totally understand your situation.
However, that car is in pretty good shape. Has to have more factory docs than any other car I have seen in some time.

I woulda just bought a car for 1200 just for the glove box door. Gotta do what ya gotta do.

Only $1500usd for a new windshield that’s a deal guys , and know you wonder why I’m parting out cars that other good car can live on.

Keep also in mind this car has around 250tmls on it , I don’t understand why everyone is always so sad about parting something out.
Believe me if parts would be easy too get I not even would waste my weekend to drive 600mls to get parts.

Are you being sarcastic?
Is what they want plus shipping and fees, is not sarcastic is sad $1500usd for an Windshield, I have NOS sedan/wagon windshields laying around and people ***** if I tell them $300

Wow. 300 for NOS. Deal.

I figured that my new suburban windshield is just north of 500 installed. 1500 does seem very high.

Damn, I'm lucky I got mine for my convertible for $300 Canadian. I had my buddy search through VANFAX and he found me one locally and sold it to me just above cost. Might want to try them to see if there are anymore out there. He said mine was the last one in inventory, but said it hadn't been discontinued.

My car glass guy did already a search through Vanfax a few months back nothing in Canada , he even placed an order for 3 windshields at Metro Auto Glass but no luck so far.

Totally get it. If the number of rust free drivable barracudas I cut up in the 80’s ever came to light I bet the e body crowd would throw me down a mineshaft.

The worst we chopped was a perfect 71 383 cuda to get quarters for a trans am car. You gotta get parts from somewhere and everything on death row had a price nobody was interested in paying to save it. Just gotta look at how many cars will that one car fix.

I think the glass availability problem is Covid 19 related and should eventually go away. I'm pretty sure that the older, slow moving glass is made overseas now, or at best in Mexico.

In the US, you should be able to get the hardtop windshields for under $300. It wasn't all that long ago that they were under $200 if I'm remembering correctly.

I think I got a quote for a new one in that range, just a couple years ago. I should've ordered it then.

Go here to post 89.

1970 B5 Sport Fury GT...Critters folly....back to basics

Seems this is not the first time this operation has been performed.

You can’t make this stuff up. Sorry to read this.
Lol that brown NY was a full blown **** box @413 , where is the point to spend big money on this 300 the car has not even a trans and engine anymore and mice was living in it for a long time.
If someone wants it then come and get it and pay me the money I’m in to it and bring me the parts I need no problem.
Keep in mind this 300 has at least 250tmls on the body and will need a tons of work before you can drive it again.
