To be near the low 20's this car should be near a grade 1- condition at a minimum. This is a grade 3+ car at most.

I and many others here don,t care about these value reports......
If you like/want something and you have the money for it buy it........:)

I agree 100% with Martin.

If you really "want" something you pay the price.

It is usually something for the originality "nerds" who want a certain car in a certain colour and options

many do though. It's not a report, it's a guide. It offers a real time idea of what the true market value of a particular vehicle is. Not everyone is willing to pay an over inflated price for something they will die with.
It's a lot harder to determine the value of a 59 Desoto than that of a "Road Runner". A little help from a guide overcomes the "what's it worth" question.
Haggerty offers an "insurance value" guide that a lot of folks mistake as a value guide. Insurance value can be as much as 40/50% higher then market value.

I've been caught up in a "really want" situation for the past couple weeks. An obscure car at a fair price, but the logistics of putting the car in my yard have become over whelming. Gonna have to let it pass.

I think the thing that makes putting an accurate value on our C body's is we rarely know the actual selling price. We see the seemingly high asking prices and assume when the ad is gone that's what it sold for. I would love to see some kind of database that showed actual selling prices especially on Craigslist ads. In my opinion as much as I love them the smaller pool of people interested in them should keep the value lower than the high teens and low 20's we've been seeing lately. At the end of the day though any car is worth the actual selling price to the person who bought it I guess.

It always worry's me when I see a C body without a photo of inside the truck. Particularly a convertible. Looks like it was a repaint from the shot showing inside the front fender. Aside from the things already mentioned what else is wrong? I'm not seeing that many other wrong things with it. I think most of the 440's you see have had a 440TNT air cleaner stuck on them - that seems to be a common ploy. I do note it is missing the Chrysler script on the trunklid.

I have died a thousand deaths over this very same issue.

And for the 15g's that under hood better be clean enough to eat off of with a working A/C system!

I agree, I've had a real crush on the 57 through 59 Custom Royal's lately and it isn't doing me any good...
I don't have the play money to get into this game but i sure wish I did..

A year go we were commenting how a very good TNT 300 convertible in red was worth $25K and while this one falls short of that mark condition wise, it really only has minor issues. Is it really that far off the mark? The power booster is a disk one Btw.

response from seller regarding past bodywork/rust repair to his knowledge

I know the drivers side front and rear floor pans have been replaced. I did not do them. They were done prior to my purchase. There is a small spot of rust (nickel diameter) on the rear deck lid passenger side. I have done zero body work to the car. It was purchased out of Arkansas. Car has been kept under garages or under carport car cover since I have owned it. Paint has typical nicks scratches.

Car sold to a guy in Ohio. Since some of the discussion on this forum has been about what these cars ACTUALLY sell for it sold for $11,500.
