I like ALL 69 Three Hundred convertibles, original or not. I think the originality is lost by the first new layer of paint, original shade or not. So the change of color is not so big issue to me.

But hey, that's just me, relax! lol
 
Turns out it is out of a TA Challenger, so I guess more cooling for a performance motor?

T/As and AARs came "standard" with a 3.55 rear and the 3.91 was optional. Those 3.55s and 3.91s are the trigger for the 26" rad in the case of these cars.

That's pretty wild. Jazabelle, (our 69 300 convertible), was once owned by an airline pilot also. His name for her then was "Traveler". He sent this picture of Traveler parked in front of his place in NJ back in the early 80's. Lots of similarities including the wire wheel covers. I think they were a dealer option back in the day as I've seen them on several late 60's and early 70's Chryslers.
He speaks about the car with a lot of pride and loves that she is in good hands now.

The wire wheel covers that were available back then were the style shown below, in both 14" and 15" on B- and C-body cars; from 1972 through about 1978. The style you show on yours plus the car in question came out in 1979 on the New Yorker R-body, and were available from that point on, with the M-body New Yorker ('81) and Fifth Avenue/Gran Fury/Diplomat from 1982 through 1988. The 14" version in the '80s was on the front-driver New Yorker.
