The seller turned out to be a real piece of work. My friend offered him the $9000 he wanted and then the seller didn't even reply back to him for several days. Since my friend lives in So. California and the seller was in the northern Bay area, apparently what was going on is that the seller wanted all cash and my friend offered him a wire transfer given the amount of money and the distance between the two locations. The seller said he wanted all cash because he didn't want the IRS to see that sum of money come into his bank account. So the seller apparently leveraged a potential buyer who offered less to come up with cash since he was local to the seller and took the $9000 cash offer from him finally instead. The seller never even replied to the offer my friend made. My friend only saw on Facebook that the vehicle sold for $9000 and the listing was removed.
