RARE! Great find for classic car lovers. 2-door, 383 V-8, original motor & drive train. Interior great except for small tears on drivers seat. Exterior ok with small surface rust patches and light scratches on trunk. Starts, runs fine, lights brakes ok, but not in drivable condition. Has been sitting since the 80's. One owner and all records of work. Any questions please email me. Want to sell quickly. $5,300

Neat car, I like it.

Very nice car.........in the 1969 passenger car catalog they show a Newport, economy class, with the Spring Special package......the Wood Grain is narrower than the Sportman package and no w/g on the rear....

Easily corrected.

Still a nice and rare Newport.

I don't know that it even needs to be corrected and could have left the factory with that rear panel. Just my .02.

Even if it didn't leave the factory that way....I would leave it as is.

? ? ?
I can't find even one reference on the web to a 1969 woodgrain Spring Special .
My opinion is that what we know as as the Sportsman, is refered to as a Spring Special in the Parts Book and is one and the same.
Yes?

Don't know! the catalogue show an Economy grade (CE) Newport with the Spring Special, maybe there is a Low grade (CL) Newport with the Sportman option..........the side woodgrain is narrower on the SS....but it's only an early car they used for the catalogue picture, maybe production cars are not the same....or later in the year....my catalogue is June 1970....

I dunno. I'm Googling the crap out of Chrysler Spring Special.
Nothing. Zip. Nada.
Plenty of hits for the Sportsman , tho. . .

the side woodgrain is narrower on the SS
You're basing that on an illustraton drawing, not on a photograph.

Show me the pics. LOL

There is a nice green one for sale for some years in Canada.
14-15K canadian dollars.
The white one here does have more rust than the pics showing.

The spring specials........i thought that was more a dodge thing??

A drawing!!!! I never figure that!! Always thought that they take pics from an existing car and go from there!.........If the exterior illustration is a drawing then the interior illustrations of that car are drawings.....man, these guys got a lot of talent.....

Sorry for hijacking the tread.........will shut up now....

No, please don't shut up. This place thrives on minutae.
Rather talk about the above than about the below.
