Pretty car!! Personally I don't really care for the white stripes though. Looks like the engine (at least the valve covers) are repainted. Price is out of my league for sure.

Four speed automatic transmission and a white leather interior. OK. Hockey stick decal is over the top for purists that might consider the car.

Vin number is fishy. Has a "6" where the engine code should be. Low sequence number. No photos of build tag. Would be curious if it actually has a 4 speed auto, ie overdrive, or the seller does not know the car. In any case overpriced.

Got an older air cleaner on it, shouldn't the opening be more oval?

That is among the many things wrong under the hood. Shiny black paint on evaporator, hood latch support, booster, radiator, A/C compressor, etc. Engine should not be red with 2BBL. This car is well into resto-mod territory.

Can you tell where it was built? I'm pretty sure Canadian production could still have a red engine in 69.

Some Canadian production engines starting, I believe in "66, used what was referred to as "Maple Leaf Red" on their BB and RB series engines, similar to the Chrysler industrial red that was used on their stationary engines. The valve covers on this car look like they were probably painted with the same color that was applied for the body repaint as they appear to have a higher gloss than standard engine enamel. Vin number shown in the ad has a "D" for the plant (Belvedere, IL), which suggests that this is a US produced vehicle. In that case, the 383-2BBL most probably should have been Turquoise. 383/440HP engines were typically Hemi Orange for the '69 models produced in the US.

Dave

I thought turquoise ended in '68?

Here is a copy of the rattle can chart from an old Mopar Performance catalogue, click on Mail0134.PDF. They show turquoise on some engines until '70. Do not know who is right on this one as sources conflict.

Good looking vert. It would need to be perfect to get anywhere near the asking price. Also much more info required to verify it's not a 727.
