1969 fury VIP restore

Ok guys I inherited my grandfathers plymouth fury VIP 1969. It has a lot or rear end body damage. Such as lower rear quarters, trunk pan and lid, bumper est.. Basically the rear clip. I'm new to all this and don't now were to look. Any ideas?

Well the trunk lid and both reverse lights look good and salvageable...............

I'm sure you will get plenty of information and help from this crew ,,

I can't wait to see the progress on it and the finished product. How's the inside & engine compartment ?

I appreciate you enthusium Bobbie, but to be perfectly honest. Man ........ that car is rough.
Unless being your grandfathers car comes with some serious sentimental value, I can't see any other reason to try and save it.

I hate to discourge you with the reality of it. You need to think hard about that project, and if you should decide to go ahead with it ....... stay with us. The members here will offer up all the support, advice and resources you will need.

This project means a lot to me I understand in will have way more invested than what it's worth but that's why I don't expect to do this over night it will be a 10+/- yr project. Thanks for your advice. I am able to do most of the work myself. I just need guidance faith and parts. I live in Tennessee and don't have access to these thangs. Thanks

Hello Bobby and welcome to the forum. This damage is similar to my 70 300, take a look at my Resurrection thread for some photos of the panels you will need to replace. You will also need the right tools. This is not an easy task, especially if you do not have any auto body experience, but it is doable.

I saw these 69 2-door quarters on ebay. $153 each. DVAP Desert Valley Auto Parts could probably help with a cut out for that taillight panel. They might have bumper and taillight lens too.

Interior is ok motor is a 383 2bbl and a 727 trans both have to be gone through and rebuilt

These are flat pieces of steel that were formed on a brake in a sheet metal shop.

I agree do not but them as it is a waste of time & money... your better off with a donor car or getting a rear clip from Desert Vally, Wild cat or Moores auto salvage

You are better off finding a donor car from Craig's list (it will be a lot cheaper and easier) and transplanting the back half to your Grandpa's car.

I too wish I could of had my Grandpa's last car (Mopar).

Please do not buy these aftermarket junk panels. You would be better off having Fred Flintstone make you some then wasting your time with these!!...............
