1969 L Code 440HP Sport Fury

There's a 2bbl and a 4bbl hood ornament?
Yes, 383 2-barrel was black 4-barrel was red.

Does anyone reproduce the red 440 insert for those ornaments? The one on my car has no insert but is otherwise in nice shape...

I had a few requests for some photos. I shot these today. Next is a full wet/color sanding and buff, then new stripes!

My lord that is one good looking car! I would really like to see some more pictures of that Beauty. I almost feel like throwing stones at mine ,almost LOL

DAMN! The stuff I learn here is unbelievable.
Seriously, how many people here already knew that. Don't lie.

I learned this about a year or two ago. I've been looking for an insert or replacement for my 440. No luck, 383's seem to be available but 440's are as hens teeth.
@clair.davis, I haven't found anyone reproducing 68/69 Plymouth hood ornaments or inserts.

The HP "call- outs" corospond to the engine color of the HP option on a Plymouth. Cool!
This seems to be true of 383's but I've only ever seen the red call-outs for the 440. Have you seen any black 440 call-outs?

It's a 440 hood ornament that has been "restored" or is later production parts, circa 1985 with a reproduction 440 "call-out".

I bought one from this vendor that actually was a correct NOS part and one that was a "restored" version. The ornament is missing the correct silver/argent paint on the top.
They are better than nothing.

This is the correct part. As you can see it has the correct silver/argent painted sides/edges around the Plymouth design, and the proper anodized aluminum 440 "call-out".

Thanks for the kind words....but you car looks stunning. Is it a factory color?

I actually found photos of your car, which helped me to decide to use Road Wheels, which were available in August of 1969. I'm sure a few Fury owners had the dealerships install them in late 1969 and 1970.

I have trouble with his use of the term NOS, then.
I would have been suckered on that one.
Thanks for my continuing education on Fury hood ornaments.

No problem.....I'm into minutia on C-Bodies.

For example did you know there are 3 versions of the 1969 Fury I,II,III grille? Small details, but different.

I had the car painted 18 years ago in 1999 . It is not a factory colour. the car was red but I really liked this red with the pearl in it. I have never for one minute regretted painting it a non factory colour because it can always be changed. I thought it made the interior pop and complemented all the chrome and polished aluminum trim on the car.
