Better than the usually bondo and spray can resto, but a massive failure in ROI.

In other words, a lot of money spent the wrong way.

Looks like a Chevy speedometer.

more like a Ford Torino speedo.

Nice car! I'm not very familiar with the 69's, is that an unsilenced air cleaner? Others I've seen looked solid, perhaps had the holes at back? That one looks like a dual snorkel missing the snorkels. The taupe colour change took thirty years off of the interior! I think that's what some don't like about it. Great body and paint!

I would drive the hell outta that car! Then I would get back into my ratty 70 and wonder where I went wrong.....NOT

I've wondered about the air cleaner too, they did a fabulous job on that one.
It is a 63-68 style, usually had round snorkels but in 68 or 69 the 383 could have that one with oval snorkels.
The older round-snorkel ones have the main housing pierced/formed outward where the snorkel spotwelds on, but maybe the oval ones were different.

Anyone care to predict the selling price of this?
Sure I'll guess. 17.5 is what it would be worth to me because (as mentioned) while it appears well done, $ spend on odd interior mod's detract from value. A quality faithful resto would have been worth at least 10 more in my book.

I think the person that buys that car will be one that doesn't care about originality, and that just wants a big 'vert of some sort. MAybe someone that would look at 74-75 Caprice 'verts, late 60s-early 70s Buick or Pontiac 'verts. Someone that doesn't know what things are specifically, and knows what they want when they see it, but without our restrictions of brand loyalty and originality. In which case, it's a pretty cool care. Heck, it is either way.

Guys,Guys, remember. It,s not the car but who is at the auction and what other cars are there. It may be a bad venue for it.Never, ever assume a car is going to be expensive. It may be the wrong crowd as other people want chevelle, or road runner convertibles. If those are there, you have to assume this car is a sleeper or a potential bargain.Just because few were made does,t mean it will be a bidding frenzy.Get in there and log onto the auction site and sign up for bidding!!!Once in a lifetime means, once in a lifetime. You,ll have a real treasure and enjoy it just by,looking at it.Antique furniture has a similar power.Shape and finish can be spellbinding.Just like the shape and color of our favorite cbodies.Happy Hunting!! B.B

The car is now on eBay. Current bid is at $15.1k, reserve not met. Some really good pics there, including a much better one of the tag for posterity.

Wrong steering wheel.
But works with the custom interior.
The three spoke wooden wheel would really set it off IMHO

Up to over 27G's! Reserve not met. I'm suspecting a little shill bidding on this one. The current high bidder has 220 bids. 100% of them with this seller. The second place bidder only has 3 total bids but all with this seller. Very suspicious!!!

Suspect ? You are being nice as usual . Since it was relisted AGAIN after the first two times it didn't hit 20. It is safe to say they are Shill bids.
