No Stan, it is one of either 301 or 338 depending on what source one can find. 3 spd manual was the base tranny but very few ordered it, prob because the wealthier demographic was buying the GP.
i found info yesterday on trans and engine breakdown............stick production is as follows:
713 had a 4 spd, 301 had a 3 speed = 1014
of 4 spds, 683 were M20, 30 were M21 = 713
of m20, 287 with 400, 302 with 428, 94 with 428 HO
of m21, 2 with 400, 6 with 428 and 22 with 428 HO
of 3 spd (M13 Dearborn), 277 with 400, 21 with 428 and 3 with 428 HO (they only used the ford trans this year, and again, depending on what you read it is either due to a strike or the fact that GM didn't have a 3 spd that could handle the torque of the big engines). They were used in some other GM cars as well.
Disclaimer: there is also info out there that says 676 were 4 speeds and 338 were 3 speeds, not sure if either of these numbers is correct. My car is supp one of 277 with a base 400/3 spd out of a total of 112,486 cars made (.24% of production). It also has pdb,ps,am/fm,rwd,pw, ac and spec order color, not sure if it has any other options or not.
