Yours is way up there for me too, Mike but the front of your car may be my all time favorite so I guess we both suck.

I had to keep looking to find something I didn't like about that car so it would keep me from spending some money... It doesn't have power windows... So there... I'm out.

Regarding rust.... Look at the front left 1/4 view. Look at the wheel lip and trim. That car is not from the rust belt.

Geez.... I know where there's some power window motors... .... Must resist.... Must resist....

The interior is GREEN. . . Why would you opt for a green interior in a white car ? I'm out too.

That car has been for sale for quite some time, previously having been on craigslist in September of 2014. I sent him some emails almost a year ago about the condition of the car and it seems to be fairly clean relative to rust on the top side, but there were clues that all may not be well underneath the car. When I asked him to check to see if the engine will turn, he suddenly stopped corresponding with me, and i sent him a similar question this time, and again the same result. I think he has a stuck engine and the car probably has rust underneath, and he likely knows it. But in his listing, he acts ignorant. A good car that appears that clean should have otherwise sold by now, unless there is something clearly wrong.

I hadn't see the ad before, until just the other day, when i posted it.

I did send him an email, asking more details about the engine, but nothing heard back yet.

Just wondered if it would crank at all? Or not crank period?

So, he may just be renewing the ad from time to time, to see if somebody shows up with the $$$ and no questions asked.

My guess is that the car was original white, with a green vinyl top that sorta matched the interior.

That green on white was a popular combo about the time this car was made.

My uncle had a '70 Chrysler Newport 4Dr HT with that combo.

The green grows on you. :)

That said, I can take green interior, but the "triple" green is too much for me personally.

This one breaks it up with the white.

Your handle is Chryslerdude... your biased

Weve played this game before...... I'll bite
Your handle is, Wannabe16?

Heard from the guy finally. It appears he is truly very busy and claims to genuinely not know if the engine will turn or not, and he is credible in his note. Maybe he will find time to try to turn the engine.

Its about a 3.5 hour drive over there, one way, or I would go check it out in person.

The default phrase is, "If only it were closer.".

Reminds me of the old axiom:

"When you find the one car you've been looking for on the internet, it will be (at least) 1000 miles away from where you live."

Credible? If the car has been for sale for a long time why wouldn't the owner know if the engine turns?

Understood - but he has three kids, a demanding job and so much more. Excuses maybe, but he is selling the car for the reason that he just never has any time. I know a lot of guys who have the same exact situation. Usually the wives run the show and never leave the husband any time to do the things he would like to do - just given them one chore after another when they walk in the door every night. Don't know if that is his situation, but wouldn't be surprised................................

I'm interested in checking up on this car but i will defer to saforwardlook until he has decided if he is buying it or not.

Thank you Wolfen for your consideration. I understand from the seller that the car is being considered by a few people already, but I still can't get any information on whether the engine turns or more information on the potential rust, like in the trunk or inner rear quarters. I think he has a preferred potential buyer that isn't asking as many questions as myself, so feel free to pursue it if you wish. If I find out anything, I will let you know as well. Again, thank you. What a different world this would be if far more were like you!

So. . . You think he may not be the Man of the House - just the mouse of the house. . .

I think it's only fair, you don't have to be religious to understand the axiom, "Do unto others as you expect them to do unto you."
