The exact same label is mounted on the top header bar next to the latch on Jazebelle also, which is a 69 model. Same part number. Our car was built early Oct 1968 at the Jefferson ave plant. I think some of the 69/70 300 convertibles were assembled in St. Louis. Maybe an assembly plant deviation.....?

I like this car as much as the rest of you, but since you asked here it goes (sight unseen):

Original top with glass window -- that means the 45 year old top needs replacement

Power Windows (driver's side works great others are marginal) -- that means at minimum motors need replacement and likely tracks need adjusting

Power Door Locks (not working) -- electrical gremlins?

Clock (has not worked for a long time) -- more electrical gremlins? If you're lucky, otherwise needs repair/replacement

Tires have few miles but 20 years -- that means needs new tires

Upholstery seams are coming apart in places -- that means needs new seat material

Exterior has 45 years of parking lot damage but it is original and not bad -- that means needs body work and paint

Front bumper has a small dent on passenger side -- you know what that means

Top storage boot is gone -- aren't these made of unobtainium?

No mention of engine/trans rebuild at 125K miles.

Once you look at it you'll realize how much else of the "all original" fabric and rubber needs replacing.

Again, I like this car but it hasn't been regularly maintained in 20(?) years and you all know what that means.

Hi Will,

no fuselage assembly in St.Louis

Sorry buddy, your way off the mark on almost all you assessments. You need to stick to cars with a warrantee.
It's clear you know very little about judging vintage, survivor type cars, especially C body's. Most here recognize the value of an "it's only original once", car like this.

I like this car as much as the rest of you, but since you asked here it goes (sight unseen):

Original top with glass window -- that means the 45 year old top needs replacement. (could be very serviceable yet).

Power Windows (driver's side works great others are marginal) -- that means at minimum motors need replacement and likely tracks need adjusting .... (windows move at all... motor OK. clean and lube. 45 years old ya know).

Power Door Locks (not working) -- electrical gremlins? (simple circuit, easy to trace).

Clock (has not worked for a long time) -- more electrical gremlins? If you're lucky, otherwise needs repair/replacement, (how many 45 year old car clocks do you think still work..? clean it).

Tires have few miles but 20 years -- that means needs new tires, (cheap fix).

Upholstery seams are coming apart in places -- that means needs new seat material, (Legendary front seat covers, about $450.00)

Exterior has 45 years of parking lot damage but it is original and not bad -- that means needs body work and paint. (original survivor. those are character marks. No repair necessary).

Front bumper has a small dent on passenger side -- you know what that means (see above).

Top storage boot is gone -- aren't these made of unobtainium? (Legendary again. $300.00).

No mention of engine/trans rebuild at 125K miles.( with the care this car has obviously received.... another 100K left.)

Once you look at it you'll realize how much else of the "all original" fabric and rubber needs replacing. (stored inside all it's life, probably better then some restored cars).

Again, I like this car but it hasn't been regularly maintained in 20(?) years and you all know what that means. (means it has not been in regular use for that period of time. basic maintenance should bring it up to snuff.)

I blew up the pic of the deck lid and I'm pretty sure that isn't the window breakage warning decal shown. It's larger and the red lettering at the top appears offset to the right. It might be the same warning, but it's a different format.

I know I've never seen one and my car (70 300 vert) had the original jack instructions.

I would replace the tires and maybe the boot for $265.00 ............ thats it. Everything else is character

On my home screen you can get an idea of how large it is, definitely not the same decal

No need to get personal, fellas. I haven't insulted anybody but the seller and for good reason.

You want 100 reasons why that car is not worth $18K? Go see it.

I may be a newbie here but I am member #34 on cbodydrydock. My first car was a C body and I have owned many since. I won't pay show car prices for a 20-footer.

But how about for a survivor.... ?

That's a fair question. Be forewarned, I have a high standard for "survivor" and I doubt this car meets them. The car is worth what the buyer and seller agree on at the time of sale. If you want me to go to Redding (2 hour drive) and inspect the car I'll be happy to give you a full report. Without looking at it, I stand by my statement $12K cash drives (hopefully unless there's something the seller didn't disclose) it away.

Edit: Just zoomed in on the picture from the rear. The vehicle is out of registration and may be on non-op. Approach this seller with caution.
