I hope it sells for a F@ck ton of money. Why? Sure someone will be ripped off at least for a while but us lower life's on the C bodies food chain may get more recognition. I say sell the damned thing for as high a price as the market will bear. Kinda like real estate isn't it?

Kinda ????

Really not much difference in the square footage as some of these tiny houses that are being sold !!

and they also have wheels.

I agree especially in MA near the Boston area.

Vinyl roof was not an option on a 70 300/H.

Neither was the black paint on the lower portion of the car.

Neither was the color of this particular car.

But never say never with MoPar...........

Doesn,t look like a correct c body mirror........!!

Portland seems to be the hotbed of *clean low mile Fuselages for sale. 4th one within a 3 mile radius over the past couple months.

*i should say seemingly clean as I've seen a couple of these personally.

For 39 grand he had better have more than three pictures, including the fender tag.

Everything about this car looks wrong. In addition to the vinyl roof and black paint, that gold is too bright

I think it's correct. If you can, blow this picture up. You can see the mirror on both cars.

Edit out the oversaturation in his pictures and it becomes pretty close. I'm sure with a bit more expertise in photo programs I could get the colouring right. I based my changes on the colour of the grass and the Oregon plate.

What with this "recognition"?

I, myself, have always said fly under the radar is better.

You guys haven't even mentioned the bowed trunk lid or the incorrect exhaust tips! You must be slipping, LOL!

Give 'em time.

At least the seller got the "1 in 503 produced" part right. How could one not since that line is used in almost every Hurst C Body ad so just cut and paste.

My response:
Well, in a way I kind of agree with Turbo at least in part - strictly from my avaricious side.

Leaving aside for a minute whether that car is real and/or correct, I do feel that our C bodies are way undervalued, which I know is a double edged sword:

1) Easy/affordable to get in to the hobby but just as easy to get upside down value wise with money invested in restoring/fixing up

2) Higher values would preclude some of us in getting in at all and make parts expensive but would allow some of to capitalize on our investment(s) when needed.

Thinking like that I think is what's behind that post...

I think our cars should be worth more - my 66 440 4-speed Monaco is a 1 of 1 car - among the rarest in the game, but couldn't command what I think it's worth if I were to sell it now...

You might be surprised Ross. I have a buyer for you. How much are you asking????

Yeah T-Omni but besidez the Linda Vaughn convertible the only other roof design on ANY of the 485 total production 300 Hurstz iz ah 1 of 1 SUN ROOF 300 Hurst, and I know where that car iz and he ain't sellin'. And the owner of this POS couldn't even get the Saturn Mist gold color right in the repaint which technically iz a GM color that was used for the Hurst 442 Oldz by the Hurst company in their complex during basically the same time period the 300 waz produced, Jer

My Response: LOL... well, it's moot at this point, because the car is completely apart for restoration, and I'm doing it right which means I am already completely upside down financially with the car. :( But I wouldn't have it any other way...

The car is going to be killer when it's done, but to pry it from my cold dead hands will take some serious dough... probably in the order of $60k or more, and it will have to go to the right person. Either that, or I'll just hold on to it until I die and it can go to my son or up for auction at B.J. with its' documentation when what it commands won't matter to me any more! Essentially due to its' rarity, I'm just the current custodian for the car.

Boy, I know I'm going to get some serious flack over that valuation above!!

My wife would love it if I sold my cars, but it just ain't going to happen, as I love them too much. So I'll just keep dreaming...

For them that don't know about this car, it's a Canadian 66 Dodge Monaco 440 - 4 speed car. The Canadian 1966 Monaco is equivalent to the USA Monaco 500, and due to the current AutoPact, they used the complete Plymouth Sport Fury dash and interior. From all I've been able to find out, this car is supposedly 1 of 1.

The car came special ordered with the 440 RCMP Pursuit motor (there's a very interesting history to this car, documented by letters from the original owner who worked at the dealership he bought the car at, referencing the fact that he ordered it with a 426 Hemi), 4 speed, 3:23 Suregrip, what was known as a dealer installed traction pkg (essentially HD Springs with an extra leaf on one side), 3" power drums all 'round, and then he ladled in the comfort and convenience - power buckets, power windows w/child safety lock-out switch, tint glass, power steering, tilt - tele wheel, rear defog, tach, and get this: he ordered the car radio delete so he could have the dealership add a New Yorker Am/Fm search tuner with reverb and power antenna pkg. They just cut right though the radio delete plate to install the radio!! He tried to order A/C and Autopilot too, but they couldn't do it with the 4 speed.
(I know, it's missing power vents, but he said he went over budget - he was 22 at the time, and had to draw the line at power vents and locks. I have the parts, and I'm considering adding those things. All that can be changed back if required).
I must admit I have added 1970 C body discs to it, which is the best upgrade I ever chose to do.

There's some more interesting info on this car, which essentially makes it one of one.

This car is brutally fast - will smoke the tires just putting your foot down in first gear at 15 MPH... see the video link:

Although it looks good in the pictures, the paint job was amateur, there were replacement 1/4 skins hung on the car with lotsa bondo, and once I stripped the car down there was significant rust. Arizona rust free metal is going on the car properly, and I'm doing everything else right too... it's going to take a while.
