....needs paint and engine detailing, and it the rear window channel need to be replaced, and it's been neglected, and the accessories aren't working, and it was parked under a tree for years with out cover, and it's wet inside, and it's a mold factory, and there is no way to convince the owner that there is NO Formula S Chrysler 300.

The owner says there "were only a few built,..maybe 5". He didn't want to hear that Chrysler never made one.

The Formula S badges were added in the 70's by the previous owner.

That's what happens when you mate a Firebird with a Barracuda.

I like this one a lot, even the wheels.

And don't expect that you can get it for even a penny less than the asking price. This car has been for sale for some 3 years now that I am aware of, and there are plenty of reasons..............................

Whoops, just read that in order. Now I get it, hopefully Mr. C was joking. I can see it being mistaken. Pontiac is the next best right? The seller is 100% cereal.

Years ago that asking price made sure that the potential buyers walked away. Not so much anymore as we are scraping the bottom of the barrel.
It sure looks ok in the photos; do you know of major issues? (Besides the obvious peeling paint job, which seems to be the result of an earlier respray, as the side stripes are wrong).

Edit: never mind that Barracuda emblem. You can always take it off.

I'm sure that was just a jest

You're right on my behalf, but if you have to explain it it wasn't well enough to the Point.
I put the Formula description on the Barracuda's side and the combination with a number, in this case the 300 to Pontiac, which actually used the Formula 350 and 400 designation.

Of course I know you can't mate a fish with a bird. ;)

Ummm, did you notice all the duct tape around the back window? Guess what is underneath all that - yes, nothing. And a damp moldy car that has been under a tree for years getting wet. We are not scraping bottom that bad yet, but maybe soon.....................

Duct Tape ???

That's that new flexible chrome looking molding stuff that comes on rolls like toilet paper ,,,,,

Nope, I did not notice the duct tape from the low res photo. I figured it was Plastic Padding or such other scum. Thanks for pointing it out.

I was going to buy this car in 1988. $2500. Back then it had a wrecked quarter panel; totally wiped out. It's been repaired,...a kind of OK repair. I like this car, but it was ridden hard and put away wet. It's got too much rust for the asking price. It needs a bare metal re-paint and rust repair. That's at least $10K today. And when I looked at it recently, none of the accessories were working. Lights, dash, wipers, fan etc,.

But it's a super rare Formula S 300!
