I get the fact that everyone has their dream car, maybe for someone it is this Hurst. My enthusiasm for this car is tempered by the fact that The rear quarter rust that has been gone over and bondoed up at least once suggests that there is probably also a lot of additional rust on the underside and wheel houses, frame rails, frame mounts etc. I am also thinking that even if the underside is reasonably solid, there is probably $25k in body and paint work on the shiny side before talking about mechanical and interior. I know I am getting cranky in my old age but this one looks like a money pit to me. If somebody goes in eyes open and takes it on, all the power to them.

My initial reaction at first was the same as yours Dave, but what caused me to pause is the 100% feedback of the seller and his seemingly honest description of the car - (odometer comments) showing the rusty areas and mentioning the trunk holes that aren't that obvious just from the trunk photo (but very likely from what can be seen) and the statement "The lower rear quarters need work and above each rear tire. trunk floor has some holes. Otherwise its very solid; floors, sills, etc as you can see." Well, we can't see those photos apparently, so I would at a minimum want to see photos of the underneath or better yet I would probably want to see the car in person before I placed a bid on it. It seems what you are saying is very likely the case. But why would the seller make such a statement given the risk of hurting his 100% feedback with 430 sales? I was just giving some benefit of the doubt.

I'm assuming that the current bidders have already requested and received additional photos of the car. Not having done so would be unwise if one was to bid.

No offense intended to those who dig these particular cars but I couldn't dig this car enough to get involved with something that far gone at that sort of coin.
