thanks everyone for the info! and whoever is near new jersey i would love to aftend a meet with fellow cbody cars . i had no idea my car had a gold viynl top originally. i assumed it was black to match the interior so thats what i just had installed. im keeping the original gold tho.

A few months after going AWOL, I contacted him. He said he was dealing with "some things" and didn't elaborate. Out of respect for his privacy, I left it at that and told him he was missed.
And I DO miss him.

A week... and one year. July 20, 1969, not 1970.

I'll never forget it; most boring day if my life. We were on vacation in Squaw Valley and my Mom made my sister and I sit there and listen to the broadcast on the radio. I was 11 - I wanted to go outside and play. To this day I can remember the boredom.
