NOT MINE 1970 Chrysler Newport convertible in South Dakota (blue now beige)

The asking price is $3.6k and the car comes with a clean title. Only one photo thus far. Hopefully the tag shows up: if it does, I suspect it'll show BL1 as the paint color code. (Edit: Nope, this is an EB7 Newport)

From the ad: "This car will need to be restored, as it has been sitting for many years. It is 99% rust out free! Really decent body, and is original. There is a dent on the passengers side, right behind the door. You can see it in the photo. Good floors and trunk. Doors open and close OK. There are just a few minor dents. Has a cracked windshield, and is missing both the 1/4 windows. Interior needs a major restoration. Dash is complete, but all the factory black matte finish is flaking off. We believe this is a 440 V8, automatic transmission, but we can not say for sure. The 440 was an option for this car. Motor is complete, DOES NOT RUN, but, with some TLC, it might. Has very cool hideaway headlights. We do have all 4 of the original wheels and hubcaps. All the convertible top parts are intact."

It has the front grill and lights assembly from a '69 300. Not a bad starting point, mine was a bit worse off when I got it.

the cordoba wheels were steel rims with an insert, almost had a rubbery feel.
my 1st doba had them, 2 of them were kind of wilted/warped

The Cordoba wheels above with the "fins" is called a "Urethane Road Wheel " Used 1975-77

Thee is no insert the rubbery stuff was bonded to the wheel permanently.

I have one NOS part # is 3699487 Used on the Cordobas and the Chargers

We have a winner! CE27L0C237481 was originally EB7.

Looking up the VIN using the FCBO search button, I see that this car was for sale and discussed on FCBO ten years ago. She was in Western South Dakota at the time, which confirms this part of the seller's story.

What kind of condition was this car stored in? I've never seen such a consistently crispy interior. Better than mouldy in a way. Nature does its thing one way or another. Looks like the sun turned what was once gold paint to white, judging by the wheel left on the trunk lid missing the lock.

If it only ran.
If the interior wasn't so unusable as-is.
If it didn't have that big smush in the quarterpanel.
If the windshield was decent/usable.
If the rear bumper wasn't so rusty.
If it had a good top.
If it had an E63.
If it had Road Wheels.

Just a small hole in the windshield...it was a way to relieve pressure building up due to a small pipe bomb used to strip the seats of material.

I understand. I just can't stand it when someone lets a car go to waste like that. If you're not going to use it or fix it, sell it to someone who will. I've seen this too many times.
