Either somebody was anxious to sell or Tawny Gold is the biggest value killer since sand pebble beige! I'm curious to know how hard that guy tried. I know deals are out there, but I think that's an exception.
I know I'm getting older but I think that color combo is spectacular.

It's been a long time since I've owned a Chally R/T vert, but after driving my friends 70 300 last year, I don't see any comparison. The E body is not the most comfortable cruiser, and it wasn't much of a muscle performer either, where the 300 was simply a joy to drive. I have noticed the prices coming way down on the E bodies recently. I would imagine if FCA produced a metric Chally vert, the old one could be had for even less. The world will never see a retro C body, let alone a retro C body vert. Probably the best current Mopar investment you could make.

I'm guessing $45K takes it. You'd be hard pressed to JUST restore the car for $35K.

Very well done!!!

I want...BADLY!!!

Over $20k with 9 days left on the auction. Reserve hasn't been hit yet.

$35 might be a reasonable figure, but a lot can happen in 9 days. My bet is it gets pulled for a private sale before the end of the auction... or it tops out below the reserve and it doesn't sell.

that convertible e body was one rare bird..amazing to see it survived all these years.
i think whoever got it stole it actually, for 40k.
Out of the 27,377 Challengers produced in 1971, there were exactly 126 cars made that were convertible, automatic, 383, 4bbl. And, this is one of them.
The car was appraised in 2001 for $35,000. I had another appraisal done in Oct, 2016 that came back at $63,900. I included a few pages from that report at the end of the listing. This car was part of the Peterson Automotive Museum Collection in California.

btw,i wish these forums had a love button besides the thanks, agree, etc.
because i Love that fury,Gawd what a great pic they got of that jewel.

Really nice car. Not sure if I would have kept the Fury III grille on it or not.

Really? It will be interesting to watch. My first thought was $25k but I can see that is probably wishful thinking. I could see $30's, I still would like to see some before pics and hear more about the sheetmetal. Also I think it is a shame it was undercoated as I would rather see the clean floorpans, frame rails and the level of detailing.

Oh I am not saying you are wrong especially when people don't think twice about dropping $70k on a new pickup.

I really like the way it was optioned out. Neat car.

I think it looks much better this way with the Sport Fury grille. I think I would have liked to lose the bodyside mouldings and added the orange reflective strobe stripes. The grille is an easier change. The tailpanel in black would have had to be a consideration too, but I like it.

I agree the SF grille is much better looking. However, in light of the fact it never came that way, the tail panel is still silver, and it's otherwise a high optioned car, I might have kept it original as possible.
