Here's my '71 NJSP Unmarked. It's an E86 U code. From what i gather, Ma Mopar didn't install the HP440 in the Fury III A38 in '69 and '70. For the NJSP '69 was 383 2brl, and '70 they were the standard performance 440 (350hp). There is a black 1970 PK41 on youtube. It has the 440 but whether or no it's a real HP engine idk?Thank you. Now I wonder if any U-code fleet cars came out of there? 1970 was a pretty rare year for the HP 440 cop cars. Only a handful of departments from what I've seen actually got the E86 engine that year.
Hi, great looking, any more pix and back story?View attachment 657273My ‘71 was built at Newark

Spotted it online. Bought it from the widow of the original owner. Garage kept. 65k on the clock. Came with shop manual and a folder full of service receipts. Bill of sale from Falls Church Chrysler/Plymouth. The guy traded in a ‘65 Newport and they gave him $700.00 for it.

I noticed one thing. The Newark plant seems to have been « happier » to stamp the L42 code on A01 Licght Package cars. You may find more that way.

That is why I noticed. @saforwardlook, who is one of FCBO's most knowledgeable members, also noted five years ago that L42 was a code that he had not seen often. It looks like that is true for Plymouth's but not Chryslers or Dodges. P* with A01 also codes L42.
