late to thread V24x...yes, this 10 inches of snow is the "widow-maker" kind. heavy, wet, slippery. a 45 minute commute last night took 4 hours AND then I got stuck IN MY DRIVEWAY :BangHead:.

anyway, seems like you've got good advice so far on the Fury. its a neat old car.

I tend be with patrick66 on price..it'll be whatever you and a willing buyer work out in the end. there is quite of bit of work to do if restoration is planned but also it has unique features and inherent rarity/collectability appeal given what it is.

if you go the "feebay" route, it may take a few times before you get a sense of "what its worth" really. its hit/miss sometimes there realizing what you and a buyer think is a fair price. a lot of people will see it though..which is good.

I tend to agree with commando1 on trying out it as a whole car first, described accurately as you have, and see what happens before making it a donor car -- if that is a workable alternative for you?

best of luck..stay safe out there till this white stuff melts/gets cleaned up:)

Lol.....the widow maker type, i like that! You must be further west then myself since you got so much snow. Southeast Mi. Got between 2-5, but alll slush for sure. Thanks for your input, my reserve will be fair and i hope somebody could do something with this rare unique ride. Cheers!

If you decide to sell the envelope with the certified speedo info, let me know for my squad car please.

If the auction does not go so well, then yes it will become a parts car unfortunately. Decisions made and ill keep you posted. Thanx!

Why is that? Would it be hard to pass on if it were a polara, or the fact that it would be an unrestorable Polara?? Hmmm?

Because a select few cars are a have to have, most are a like to have. If it were a 71 Polara but all else being equal.... its a have to have

I understand, and ill take that as a compliment polara71, thankyou. Its SUCH a cool unique piece, ive been searching online to find another, and i cant even come close, not even a pic! The closest ive came was the 1970 Suburban firechief car thats in pics here and there, thats all i can find. Id much rather find a solid donor then to let this one go, but a 2dr sedan, they just arent out there. It 'should' be on ebay tomorrow, with a very reasonable reserve, someone will be very happy im sure!!!

It is a cool rare car ....Billy Fury hasnt seen this car yet?

Very cool Fire Chief car. Not as desirable as a police patrol, probably because of the small
block, and I would imagine rare to see one restored. Do you have a link to the auction?

Ill try my damndest to get the auction up and running tomorrow eve. We had a little snowstorm here in tye midwest and i just need to get some decent pics of the exterior before i list it. Ill need to shovel out the snow around it first! Lol if/when so, ill post the link asap. Thanks!

Would you be interested in making me a copy of the envelope in the glove box ref the certified speedo or scan and email to me. My '70 ex squad does not have this.

Ive decided to leave it attached since it adds to the cars originality and well, it should just stay there, thats how i feel about it. Not to mention theres an idividual who wants the glovebox w the envelope still attached if the car does not meet its low reserve on ebay starring tonight. I will keepyou in mind tho if all else fails, sound fair?

thanks for adding interior pics. its rough, but not completely hopeless.

you do have what is really rare with these fleet (police/fire/government) vehicles. a relatively "complete" car...yes a small block, yes showing age-related regional interior/exterior deterioration..but "complete" and relatively "original" (i.e., it still has a fair amount of HARD TO FIND, desirable, police/fire only fleet parts) plus its a "coupe".

i resist giving specific "WIW advice" to anyone. again, if it were my car, I would try to market it as a complete car first as you are doing, and as many times as you can stand to realize what you and a buyer think is "fair". It may take a couple times, but i know these "feebay" auctions ain't free either so there is a practical limit on how many times you want it on that venue.

BUT, taking apart a "complete" police/fire vehicle - assuming it COULD otherwise be saved -- would be my last resort for it if I owned it. that path, as was pointed out by Fc7_plumcrazy and others, has a "cost" to you as well (time to do it/sell the parts, tools needed, space to do it, what to do with what's left, etc), and the "net" proceeds may/may not offset those dismantling costs.

With a better look at it now, I think it MAY be worth more in parts than you may get in a complete car sale, even net of dismantling costs. that's just a data point from an observer who has had to make this keep intact/part out decision a few times .. but not offering up that view as the "gospel" in this instance. :)

my hope for it is that you get a fair price from someone ready to step up and save it as a whole car for posterity. Then hopefully we all will get to see it again done up to a decent "back in the day" level of restoration, or better, one of these days :)

Again, good luck with it!

Reserve met at &795.00, dont miss out on a rare opportunity like this PK21 2 dr sedan!!! Looking for a pic of a 70 PK21 TWO DOOR, cant seem to find one. Anybody??
