NOT MINE 1970 Plymouth Fury 4dr 383 POLICE? $2,000 in Annville, PA (FB)

Lov'in on the the old Vic's! Great cars. I am a strong Mopar guy but recognize a great car when I see one. Four to five hundred thousand miles before they are completely put out to pasture is not uncommon. Something about refrigerator white with black steelies and blackwalls, just has "the look!"
Making me wax nostalgic for my St. Regis A38 E58 that is in storage for the winter.

I'm down with the Panther cars and the GM B-bodies, but feel no need to pretend I was assigned the low-bid government mobile. I did sell both, but if I had infinite indoor storage, I would have never sold either of these. I blame the commie magazine writers for making people feel like they should buy utilitarian junk. At least they're all unemployed now.

Does anyone have the actual contact number or email for the guy selling the car? I dont do facebook either.
Martin Kane
Since no one has answered this.
If you look at the screen shot with the words on the right side you will see that this car is listed in the "Vintage police cars for sale" group.
Posted by a Matthew Witmer from the zip code of 17077 Ono, Pennsylvania.
If you don't do fakebook you will have to get someone with it to research the man's name and contact him that way.
Hope that helps and we get some more info on this cop car.

A gentleman near me, in Corning, NY, had a collection of 85 Crown Vics, both civilian and police, mostly police. Not a junker in the bunch.
These were/are nice, running, driving cars, mostly from the south and west. For some reason, he decided to sell off about half of them on eBay.
This was in 2023, IIRC.

The ones on ebay were very very nice, many mint. Pristine undercarriages and all...

I should have bought one.

I drove a 94 Grand Marquis as my DD between 1998 and 2001 and put around 190K miles on the 4.9 engine during that time.
Back then I was pounding the pavement every day on appointments and that Mercury held up really well.
Back in those days when some of my appointments had me going into the rougher neighborhoods in Chiraq, I really think the people around the area thought I was either a cop or a detective, because the car looked just like an undercover cop car. Never had any problems when there. This observation may be just be an assumption, since the CPD was driving Crown Vics at the time.

I loved my Ford F-series trucks but was NEVER a Ford car guy. The only Ford car I had owned was a 1978 Mercury Cougar which I took "on a trade" from the guy who bought my 1981 Dodge Diplomat. I fixed the mechanicals and quickly sold it. In 1995 I bought a 1990 Mercury Grand Marquis Colony Park LS ONLY because it was a great deal. Well, WHAT A CAR!!! It was like a Lincoln station wagon. It had leather seats and EVERY OPTION. We had it for many years and it was one of the best cars we ever had. My Wife LOVED it but as cars shrunk, she found the parking spots at the shopping centers did too. We bought a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee in 1999 and by 2000 we sold the Colony Park. I should have kept it. The woodgrain was fading, the hood paint cracking, and the 5.0L was getting tired. At the time, Ford offered a fully dressed 5.0L in the Motorsport catalog. I now wish I dropped in that engine and addressed the cosmetics....

BTW: My last Ford Truck was a 2004 F-350. I was looking to get back to a 1/2 ton and in December 2010 I bought an 11 Silverado 1500. I LOVED it! I just ordered a 26 Silverado 1500. I don't think I will ever go back to a Ford truck. lol
