1970 Plymouth Fury III Pursuit digital photos

Get out oh here!!! Really!
So, was it connected to the cop car's fuel pump wth like a tee fitting and a valve or something?

Posted via Topify using Android

Yes, it is a petcock fitting like your radiator. I did not reconnect it and the clear fuel line was all dry rotted, so it is cow milker line. One of the perks of Wisconsin, you can get alot of Farm stores and their supplies.

Interesting and cool car.

The locals never had better than the Fury I and there was no A/C... and no hose for gas!!

Very interesting feature, I did not see anything like this on my car but the engine and tranny had already been removed before I found it.

That is for when a Officer came upon a person during the night that ran out of Gasoline, They would have a empty can in the trunk and give them a gallon. Remember when gas stations closed at 5 or 6 pm?

Was that a factory police option? Was it optional as part of the A38 package?

A spare can was probably too simple. :)

I double checked the build sheet. The gasoline fill is not factory. The front and rear bumper guards are factory and the wheels were black in color and not white.

Your car is really nice. Did it have the blue carpet & door guard on it originally as well?

The door edge guard that runs along the length of the car is factory, part of the Fury III package. The carpet and original blue tinted floor mats were in the car and look period correct. The headliner was bad and was replaced. A small part of the upper cloth on the drivers seat was replaced.

Great looking ride, where in Wi are you located, if you don't mind me asking?

Ha, Im in Kenosha, maybe Ill see ya at some Milwaukee show.

I'm working this weekend otherwise Fox Lake WI has a decent show with 3-400 cars. Elkorn is after that but again I'm working. The next show I can attend is Berlin Aug. 11. Last year 400 cars and even a couple of snowmobiles racing on the river. That was something you don't see this time of the year.

Pete, do you know if the WSP has any kind of historical or educational society or commission, etc? if they do then they might have more info on this car or may want to document it, etc. for instance, the PSP has 2 (yes, two) 1972 Furys, both restored to the exact specs of what they were when they were in service. One is used to shows, the other is a literal museum piece........it sits abt 8 minutes from where I work, I saw it last week. they are both managed by the historical commission.

I tried multiple times by myself and thru others also involved in law enforcement. The short version is that it was a dead end. If you want to see a neat museum web site look at Seattle Police Museum. According to the articel in Old Cars Weekly the Satellite car is used every day as a patrol car and the Officer must wear the period correct aparrel. Maybe the short artice is on the internet froom a couple of months ago.

i see.......btw, that looks like a gorgeous red imp in the background of one of the photos

That is my '78 NYB St Regis Coupe. If you want to see more pics of that look further on this website. My '59 Imperial Coupe is in the garage.

Hi Pete, just posted pics of this car in old form, I believe when you got it... this my old car! Great job by the way! I sold the car in Washington to someone who wrecked the RF fender, then you must have purchased the car. I flew to Colorado and drove it back home to Washington in 1994. This may help you...
