Thank you on that one... I have that one but no numbers on it. We tried to have some Canadian members go out to have a look but that didnt come through.....That one is a early car

just checked the red one from the previous page which was on faceb.
Owner names himself Lewis Wiemert.
Bought car in 1999 and it was 10years+ painted before his purchase. So it is red at least since 1989.
He is from Union City/Mount Holly, New Jersey. So pretty close to you.

End of detective work for today

Any desire to put up a site with your registry?

Then he bought that from Mr Grentz...( I still have his phone number) an old fellow that lived off of exit 16 on the NJ Turnpike. A friend of mine and I drove up on a Sunday morning to see it when it was for sale in 2000. Mr Grentz had 3 sheds in the back of his small yard. One had a 55/6/7 T bird ( not sure what year it was) inside it, another had something from the 20's in it. I dont recall what the 3rd one was for but I dont think it was for the Polara.

When we arrived on that Sunday morning it was raining pretty hard. The car was decent but I really couldnt crawl over it because of the rain. I was also much less educated on these cars then as I am now. Obviously the car was red with a 383 , black top & interior and had air conditioning and drum brakes. The car had some water intrusion around the top area and some aftermarket wires along the wiring harness. I was much more finicky then and looking for a more particular car with different options. He wanted $4,500. for that car then..

After we left the Grentz residence we drove through New York City into a well to do neighborhood to look at a Yellow 70 ragtop. That fellow also wanted $4,500. for his car. It was originally Silver with a 383 and again drum brakes. Obviously I didnt purchase either.

Back then I was holding out for a disc brake car and I also wanted a Superlite. I was also looking for certain colors and I wanted a white interior. After several year of looking I realized I was looking for that needle in the proverbial hay stack ...

So, you are saying this car is now in the Mt Holly area?

Hi Dave,

at least "Lewis Wiemert" from FB says he owns it and lives there according to his visible profile.

You should have bought the silver one.....:poke:

Like I said it was yellow, Bright Yellow. The dutchman panel had bondo oozing from the underside into the trunk compartment. That car eventually went to auction in Indiana and if memory serves is owned by a guy named Bill

And no, if I had I might not have what I have or had over the years... I played the hand well

No`, that simply wont be sufficient . It needs to be done the right way or not at all

I agree and I would love to see a site done for these cars as it would be great to know how many are really still around. But I would have to beg Dave to include the 69's with it! I think a 69-71 registry would be great and you just break down the 69-70 verts into their own section. Might as well keep it with all the fusie polara's you could get from 69-71. :yaayy:

I think keeping it for fusies would be good as that would pretty much be 69-72, I am sure there are some 73's out there but it seems like the majority are the first 3 years. And with the verts that would be easy to have those be in a section to themselves. Gtsregistry.com is a good layout, gets a little long in the tooth but there are ALOT more A body darts to log than there would be fusies. You can see how they lay them out by registry # and then at the bottom of the page you can choose between 1967, 1968 or 1969. Then there is a special section in the 69 page for M code darts and Cudas. That could be something like a special section for the 69-70 verts. I think it would be great to have but I know it would be some work to put it together but I think it would be very very helpful to alot of guys and could maybe even morph off into Plymouth and Chrysler sections for fusies too. I think it would get alot of interest.

Is there any way to piggyback it off FCBO? Maybe a section off of here to a drop page and then the server space could be used from FCBO?

I would start with what interests you most and what kind of data you really collect.
AFAIK it is about 1970 Polara CVs.
Followed by other 70/71 Polaras and Monacos

You only have a personal registry for the 70 verts, don't you?
You need someone computer savy who can built you something up.
Easy to register for others and easy for you to post pics.

Isn't your daughter in the age where classmates of her are IT-guys who can help with that for a few bucks?

The people are around, again, its a matter of taking the time and money and sitting down and doing it. I have been saying that for fifteen years...
