1970 Dodge Polara convertible, only 842 produced, 383 V-8, auto, ps, pb, front disc brakes, 112,000 miles.Nearly all front suspension and steering parts have been replaced in the last 3 years. Brake system is almost entirely new in the last 3 years. New rear leaf springs. New TTI dual exhaust- sounds very nice. Tires replaced 2 years ago. Front 235/70R15 BFG radials and rear 255/70R15 BFG radials. Original clock replaced with NOS clock.Top is 6 years old and in excellent condition. There have been 4 ‘modifications’ to the car:1) AC has been disconnected and compressor removed- all original parts are included.2) Aftermarket Bluetooth radio installed. Original working AM radio and correct dash panel are included.3) Original 2bbl carb and manifold have been changed to an Edelbrock 4bbl carb and matching Mopar manifold. Professionally rebuilt original 2bbl carb and manifold included.4) All interior light bulbs and headlights have been changed to led - amazing difference! Car was repainted in the 1980’s but still has a decent shine. There are a few light scratches but no dents or body filler. All chrome is in excellent condition. Front seat (as seen in pic) is worn/torn on the drivers side. Back seat has one small hole. Car runs and drives great.Don’t do this too often so probably left out several things. Please contact me with any questions .

@polara71

Why the red X and run without explanation for those of us out of the loop???:wtf:

Its blue with blue interior. That alone disqualifies it for him.

I worked on this Polara and helped make it as right as can be. I just wish I could have painted that engine.

Apparently, it's not the perfect car for Dave.
Dave should buy this car. Then, according to Fetridge's Law, his dream car will magically appear and be available to purchase. After he buys the dream car, he can sell this car to finance any improvements he wants to make to the dream car.

I'm certain if he bought this car, and showed up with a truck and trailer...his dream car would appear. How to get the right one on the trailer though...thats the issue.

I've tried this so many times, but my driveway is still filled with junk. What am I doing wrong?

While I really like it, IF I know Dave like I think I do… it is NOT the perfect car for him because:

1- its NOT fk5 orange

2- its NOT HIS old car

3- its NOT a ‘71

4- its NOT a HI-PO

5- it DOESN’T have buckets & console

What do I win :lol::thumbsup:

Dave is never going to get his dream car, he rips everyone elses car, he's a bitter man. Why??????
Sadly I don't even know the guy, only know how he acts on this forum and it's one of the reasons why I 'm fading away from here.
He has not added any value to this site.

Dave has a certain criteria, and he won't settle for something that doesn't meet it.

He knows these '70-'71 Polaras better than most ever will.

Dave is blunt, and calls it as he sees it. Not everyone can handle that.

Dave is never going to get his dream car
I respectfully disagree. He got his dream car once, he just let it go. We all make mistakes.

Maybe my memory is failing me, but I can't remember one instance of Dave's ripping a member's car. Is he tough on cars posted for sale that are not a member's car? Yep. Does he sometime go overboard? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. But all of his judgement calls are, IMHO, backed by hard data. I may sometime disagree with him, but that makes things interesting.

Sadly I don't even know the guy, only know how he acts on this forum and it's one of the reasons why I 'm fading away from here.
Is he blunt to the point of being abrasive sometimes? Sure. Does he shoot from the hip? Yep. Do he and I always see eye to eye? Nope. But you should not let his style detract from the substance.

He has not added any value to this site.
That is widely off the mark. Don't just take my word for it. Dave got banned from the site once. The top 20+ contributors to FCBO all lined up to get him reinstated. They would not have done that for someone who does not add value and who does not help folks out. It took some time, possibly because he'd rubbed too many folks the wrong way, but it happened. I, for one, am really happy about his being back own the site.

He contributes a heck of a lot, and is one of the most knowledgeable folks re: fuselage Dodge cars. When I started looking to buy a 1970 Polara 'vert, Dave was incredibly helpful, even though he and I had never met in person or corresponded before, and even though I had been lurking for many years without posting almost anything. He took a chance on me, and I greatly benefited from his generosity.

You have saved one of about 50 Polara 'verts still on the road. Believe me, we all are grateful for what you did. The last thing anyone on the site would want, is for you to fade from the site. Whether or not you keep the Polara, I for one sincerely hope that you stay and keep being here.

I have to disagree also.

I've been here a while and never read anything by him where he "rips everyone else's car".

I also think that he has contributed quite a bit with his knowledge of fuselage Dodges. That carries over into the Plymouths and Chryslers by association. Lot's of details about what is correct and what is original.

Do I disagree with him? Yes, sometimes. I'm sure he disagrees with me sometimes too.
