I spoke to the guy briefly at Moparfest. Strange duck very close to the vest. I went back to try to talk to him again but he had already left 1/2 way through the Saturday. The car looks odd in it's current configuration.

I agree Fred....it looked good in Red and Black ... This shade of blue is an odd selection on the car including the interior and console, it's all wrong

So I wonder if this guy is at all upset with himself.

That is a possibility. I had a neighbor who completely changed a '66 Ford and then felt like he ruined the car. He had spent so much money he ended up selling it, because he could not afford to change his mistakes, and had no joy with what he had done.

It's a slippery slope with spending on old cars. 20K can go by in a flash. Unless something breaks now all I change are the wheels maybe every 2nd year for a new look.

My neighbor put a modern metallic blue that looked alright on the car, but something possessed him to put a blue vinyl top that was a totally different blue.

If it would have been white it would have looked fine. That was just the beginning of his screw ups however. Chevy 350 under the hood, removed all the interior and installed yet another variation of blue from a crappy junk yard, 90's something seats.

If he wasn't a retired painter I would have said he was color blind.
