Looks like a decent starting point depending on the rust. Looks like a maaco type respray maybe.
I'd being checking it out if I was in BFE Nebraska.

Looks like DL23L0D258844 is back for sale. Read more about that poor car here. The asking price is now $2k OBO, lower than in 2021 but without those "fancy" alloy wheels.

FWIW, the asking price has been all over the place. The old ad from last year (under previous ownership? who knows) is still up of FB and marks it as sold.

The original color was FK5. I agree with @Rustyrodknocker -- the car looks solid, at that price I hope it does not end up in the derby. Here are some more pics for records.

Well, the front bench vinyl is further ripped, but it was soon going to be toast anyways. At least that suggests that some folks have sat on the seat since last year, which is arguably a good sign.

Here are photos of the interior. Seats need redone, dash is cracked, woodgrain is faded, headliner is torn, etc. -- but if the car is solid, the right buyer might be interested. FK5 with V1X black vinyl top and L2X9 black bench interior is a nice combo.

Come on @LocuMob -- this is clearly a Dodge. The ad says so! :poke:

:steering:

I dont know If I could make myself put new vinyl on any car but I may make an exception for this. Fk5 definitely. Adios 318 though and I'd swap in a split bench.

Adios 318

The car was built with a 383-2, and that engine is gone. The brakes have been changed to disc (one would need to check the work). That is partly why I said this car could be made into whatever the buyer wants it to be. I think you and I are on the same page for this car.

I've been talking with the seller, here is a fender tag decode:

E61: 383 cid 2-barrel 8-cylinder engine
D32: 727 Transmission (3-Speed Auto)

DL: Dodge Polara
23: 2dr hardtop

L: 383-2 8 CYL engine
0: 1970
D: Belvidere, IL, USA

258844: Sequence number

FK5: Burnt Orange Exterior Color
L2X9: Trim - Low, Vinyl Bench Seat, Black
TX9: Black Int. Door Frames
518: Scheduled Build Date = May 18, 1970
T66267: Order number (the T-VON indicates a leased car)

V1X: Black Vinyl Top
A01: Dodge Light Package
G11: Tinted Glass - All Windows
H51: Manual A/C
L31: Fender-top Turn Signal Repeaters
M25: Wide Sill Moldings
M31: Belt Moldings
M85: Front and Rear Bumper Guards
R11: Radio Solid State AM (2 Watts)
V01: Mono Tone Paint Treatment
V5X: Body Side Stripes, Black
Y05: Build to USA Specs
26: 26in Radiator
END: End of Sales Codes

[Provided this car is as solid as the pictures appear to be] It's worth a long roadtrip for solid metal...plus he's asking 2k and will consider offers. This is cheap for a 2 door fusie that moves under its own power!

for that price i don't even care it's a 318...would probably better suit me as I'm looking for a daily driver for summer haha:steering:

The seller responded to my questions with straight talk and the exact photos I requested. I like that, and that is one reason why I think there is a deal to be made for the right buyer.

As for me, given the work needed, I don't have the bandwidth to deal with this car given what else I have in the pipeline.

The 318 is not original (it is an L-code) so the car would be perfect for a restomod, as discussed. Attached are some of the photos that I got from the seller. The floors and trunk pan need work, but the quarters and rail extensions seem better than the floors and pan would have implied. To be clear, I don't have pics from underneath the car and therefore I cannot comment on the stub / I can't guarantee the condition of the underside. Anyone serious should contact a local member to put magnets in the right places. Still, based on what I know, I agree with @MoparRacing @BLIMP @LocuMob and @Rustyrodknocker that the $2k ask is not a bad place to get a discussion started.
