Hey folks,
I'm at the point where I need to sell this gal. I have nothing but the utmost respect for this forum and the monumental task we all have of restoring these cars. There is simply no aftermarket support so we all rely on each other which has been a true highlight of my Mopar career.
That said, I'm planning on posting the car to craigslist but wanted to offer the car to the forum first. I will offer a FCBO price of $3800 or best offer since I have received a ton of help and support from you all. The work on the car was done by me and my teenage son. I will miss this car like no other (originally an A-body guy). Link to picture album and details below.
Price 4600.
1971 Chrysler New Yorker
440 big block Mopar. This car runs great and drives even better. Brakes work fine (so does E-Brake). Transmission shifts great, no shudder, clunk, or noise.
I showed this car at a local car show a few years ago and it was used as a daily driver . The paint was hand rubbed and waxed. My son and I spent a lot of time together working on this car.
New KYB shocks (front), Gabriel shocks (rear)
Road wheels with trim rings in great shape
BF Goodrich whitewall tires. Lots of tread left
Resealed backlite and windshield
Lowered 2" (lowering blocks in rear springs)
Carter AVS Carb (Model 4966)
New rear axle seals (8.75" Axle)
Flowmaster 40 muffler (single exhaust)
Power Steering
AM Radio
Powered 6 way drivers seat
New Trans shift stud seal
New NGK plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and points
New radiator hoses
New fuel sending unit
From the fender tag:
H51: Air Conditioning with Heater
R48: Power Antenna
L31: Hood/Fender Mounted Turn Signals
H31: Rear Window Defogger
M45: Fender Skirts
P31: Power Windows
S61: Tilt/Telescopic Steering Column
B41: Front Disc Brakes w/Standard 10in RR Drum
G11: Tinted Glass (all)
V7F: Accent Stripes, Green
P45: Power Deck Lid Release
R31: Rear Seat Speaker(s)
N51: Maximum Engine Cooling
The car has some minor (mostly cosmetic) issues. I'll do my best to describe them:
Headliner above front seats is fine, the rear part is coming apart/missing. All rods are there.
Rear package tray has some cracks/breaks. Mostly there.
Cruise Control is there, but not hooked up electrically.
Emergency flasher knob is not installed. I have the part.
Rear backseat window (drivers side) doesn't roll down, backseat internal door linkage came loose and does not currently open.
Upholstery isn't in great shape. Foam is starting to powder.
Power steering chuck has minor leak at steering wheel shaft location.
Chrome trim around rear doors and grille not installed (I have all the pieces).
Needs horn internal switch in steering wheel (was not present when i bought it).
Needs external door mirror. Glass fell out.
