1971 Chrysler Newport Royal Commercial

The guy that used to run the Exxon station I traded at had a customer who bought a '71 Newport Royal from the local dealer. As it aged, she had carb issues with it. One of the ways the Royal "cost less" was that it had a 360 with the Holley 2210 2bbl carb, rather than a 400 with a similar Holley 2bbl. The dealer couldn't get it to work right for her, nor could the Exxon guy, who told me about it (and what he'd done).

My parents needed a new car in Sept '72, so they got one of the two remaining Newport Royal 4drs the local dealer had. He's spec'd them with 400 2bbls, ours had the electronic ignition, the other one didn't. So they did pretty good! I liked the woodgrain one the door panels, among other things.

Neat tag line in that commercial . . . relating to the "taste". Thanks for posting!
