nice colour combo decent condition
http://kansascity.craigslist.org/cto/4818442571.html
Nicely preserved 1971 Chrysler Newport Custom. All original except for the motor, which is a 440, and has been repainted the original color long ago. The body is in excellent condition for it's age with one small rust spot on each of the quarter panels and there are two rust spots forming underneath the vinyl top below the rear window. The paint is faded or dull and I'm not sure if a shine can be brought back to it. There is a long scratch on the passenger rear quarter panel but it's not all the way through the paint. I have not tried to repair it. The vinyl top is in very good condition besides the two previously mentioned areas where there is rust underneath.
The interior is also in excellent condition with only one rip on the driver's backrest and one small one on the side of the driver's cushion. The rest of the interior is nearly perfect.
The car runs and drives fine but is not very quick, meaning it's slow to get up to speed. It may just need the timing adjusted and/or the carb. I did the initial timing and carb settings myself and am not the best at it. I drive it as-is and it's ok. It made a 900 mile trip just a couple of months ago without any problems. It does leak some oil and transmission fluid.
Automatic transmission.
Original am/fm stereo works and has a cord to plug in mp3/music device.
Air conditioning works but slowly leaks freon(r134a).
Clear Kansas title. Sold as-is.
*These photos are about 4 years old. The paint has faded some since then.* I will add some current photos of exterior and interior when I can.
