I don't think the hood could be saved.

saved is too strong a word. straighten it enough so that i could see out the windshield, make it so that it would open and close would be the goals.

Too much panel-wide stretching and distortion, and that includes the underside support frame.

that's where cutting a hole for the intake comes in handy. i have two '69 newport hoods, one of which could supply at least part of the support. not that any of this is going to happen. nice to dream.

That was for sale a few years ago minus the custom hood modification. Hard to forget those "WONDERFUL" wheels...............

While looking up my records on 2-door 1971 Imperials, I may have found the 2018 ad and the discussion to which I think you were referring:

Is that the ad? I wonder what happened to this one. It is one of 18 that I understand are still on the road (including the TX9 currently listed for sale by @Sgt-Few-So-Large ).
