You guys are absolutely right to be afraid of those mother great storms, anyone not afraid has to be plain crazy. Up here in the frozen north we have many jokes and crazy stories about the cold, but no fear. We dress for the weather and all is well. The only people at risk are drunks and little children which everyone watches out for.

My house was built to Category 3 Hurricanes. Inconvenience.
Tornado, scares the **** out of me.

Off the coast line, hurricanes are really strong storms. They do spoan tornadoes, but usually smaller ones. I pretty much go with the idea that if a tornado is going to hit you all you can do is hope/pray... no basements for much of FL... a storm cellar would be a water reservoir and you would need scuba gear and have to watch for gators and snakes.

The danger areas are really when your in the storm surge zones by the coast. West coast of FL you have a concern if you're on the wrong side of I75... but It takes a BIG storm to become a problem... they are on the news. Stan, I bet your 1,000,000 times more likely to get struck by lightning than a tornado where you are. At least lightning rod systems are available.

Can't tell you how many dollars in electrical items have gotton fried.
And yes, I have a Duke Power surge protector at the meter...
Wow, I have UPS protection on all my computers, but they are very rarely triggered with any power fluctuations. Maybe once a year for a minute or two. Realistically, I statistically don't need any line protection, but being an Engineer makes me worry about what might happen if I don't.
Living in bad weather belts has to effect how people live their day to day lives; always under the deep down fear that something really bad is just over the horizon. Much like, I suppose, the "live for today because tomorrow may never come" attitude that was so universally felt during the Cold War. As a student, I was very aware of Nuclear Winter and the fear generated when I looked up to see the B52 Stratofortress contrails heading north. I vowed I would never live or raise a family under those conditions and picked Calgary for it's isolation from all weather and geological worries. The only downside, my kids tend to discount potential problems, one lives in Vancouver with it's earthquake and tsunami vulnerability and another lives in Kelowna where big forest fires are always a worry. I probably worry too much, I'm cold war damaged goods.

You seem a tad excited about this....

Don't want the specifics (we all have tricks we need to keep close to the vest), just the generalities. How did they fall into your lap?

Nice work as he has done all along, I know what it is like to rub back acreage of flat. I personally am tired of it. I don't know how old Paul is but I can say this, kudos to the man for still doing stuff like this.

Soccer field is starting to look like a swimming pool... I am really loving his work.

When it hits the road, it will be a day in mourning. The factory didn't make their Show Cars to that degree of perfection.

Yes, get a lot of pics before you drive it, because once you do, it'll never look that good again.

But you have to drive it... Besides... do you own a coffee table big enough to keep her on?
