OOhh boy, been there done that. I can't stand HOA's, usually full of busybodies jackasses trying to get into your business, tell ya what color xmas lights to put up, when you can and can't do work on your car, in front of your own unit, in your own parking spot. Jeez, I sympathize.

They really have a fit when the NY'er hood is up and I got the power washer running. Don't even think about using a jackstand in front of the house.

yup, it's time we all started looking for a house for Bob......out in the country. Wife and I were going to buy a piece of land last yr until the owner showed us the deed restrictions he had put on it, to include one that disallowed any repair or resto work on vehicles in or out of a building.

Outside is bad enough, but anyone who thinks they are going to dictate what I can do inside my own garage can go straight to hell. He even quipped, 'there is no need to work on your own car, they have garages for that.' Oh, I see, now i'm supp to pay someone else $225 for a brake job that I can do myself for $45.

What some of these people need is a terminal disease or something similar, so they can see what a real problem is since they obviously don't have any real reason to complain. Note: Not wishing that on anyone, just making a point.

FTHOA.
My covenants strictly spell out prohibiting what I do.

And guess who they come crawling on their hands and knees to when something needs to be welded or something...

I just had to replace my beautiful stone mailbox with cedar. I had to just let it go cuz going Charles Bronson on the deal was just gonna get ugly.

I hear you...they come running to me everytime they have car troubles. I stopped fixing cars after the 2nd time I was turned in for "violations"...because I would violating the rules if I helped them!

They used to call it the land of the free.

Doing body work in my garage for 25 years, in the old days there used to be a couple cars lined up in the street waiting for repair. Never had any issues; good neighborhood too, though mostly living there for 30-50 years, they're used to me. :)
