This Newport is in enclosed storage on Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas. I have lost the space where I planned to restore it. I suspect it will sit for a long time before I can figure out where to work on it, as space is tough to find here in Vegas. I hate to move it on. I thought I would post this ad as a feeler to see if there is someone else out there who loves these cars also, and who can pick up the torch.
NOTE: these are the pics I can take as it sits. It is a big beast to attempt to get in and out of the trailer by myself for better pics. As soon as I can do so, I will take more/better pics.
The car comes as a complete body with suspension and interior. It is in rough cosmetic condition, needing repaint and an interior freshening unless you just want a "Roadkill"-style driver. It could use sporadic rust repair in unsurprising areas (e.g., trunk floor; fender doglegs; a couple of patches to the main floor pan) but it is structurally solid.
The car was originally a 400 and has front disc brakes. It was a California car that I bought from a hardcore Mopar family in the LA area. It was drivable up until about one month ago but had a non-original drivetrain that I removed. The gas tank has been internally restored (see pic) and looks great. The brake and power steering systems also worked great and were left intact and unopened.
Altogether, stab a drivetrain back in and it will be an immediate driver. For example, there is a guy in the region with a running 72 Newport with its original 400 but no title asking $2500. If you do your own mechanical work, combine this car and his drivetrain. Even with any miscellaneous parts needed while you are in there, this would be a registration-eligible driver for well less than $5k.
No wheels/tires are provided. If you are not local, you will need to bring wheels and tires to roll it onto your trailer. If you are local but don't have wheels and tires, I may be able to use my wheels and tires to help you get it to your destination, and then remove them.
It has a clear, clean and altogether normal (NOT salvage/rebuilt etc.) Nevada title in my name ready to transfer.
Price: $1250 cash, where-is, as-is.
