Just what I was thinking. Thats a "engaging the mouth before the brain is in gear" comment, (can't concider it an offer).
When you cut away all fat, it is the "art of the negotiation" that ultimately determines value (which is subjective). I did not buy my car thinking "well Joe blow would pay "x" for this...and therefore so shall I. Um, sure I'll go along with that reasoning.
On top of that I realize I was at the right place at the right time for once, and even with that I can tell you there was some back and forth between myself and the other party over the span of about a week or so that took place before the deal was sealed...
