Hi....yeah, I went for it....phoned the seller earlier and after a good chat we did a deal on her so she will be bound for the UK soon. Im just finishing up my 66 Fury project that I hope to sell soon so I can get stuck into this car. Looks nice and the seller sounds like a good guy. He is sending me some more pics later....will keep you all updated....cheers Steve

Sourcing and importing a car is one of my goals so the ball is now rolling. Sounds like the small rusted section on the passenger side C pillar is the worst of it so that will be my first job. Then the dent on the upper front passenger fender will need to be pulled then she should be pretty straight. She looks to be a nice car and a good price for a 2 door dry state, 440 car. A little bit of work should see her good to go. Its strange buying a car without viewing it but sometimes, youve just got to trust the guy and get on with it.

From its background, Im assuming the interior is original as its effectively a one owner car. I didnt ask. I havent seen the white seats with black accents before....would this be original?? The seams etc look to line up too well to be redone, and the wear on the front cushions makes me think shes original.....any thoughts???

I had talked with the owner as well earlier on behalf of a friend that was interested in buying it. I also thought he was a good guy and a mopar guy as well. My friend is waiting for one that he prefers more due to color and other factors. But from what I was able to find out, it seems like a very good car at a very good price, with a lot of the normal stuff already having been done. It is a one owner car from an old school teacher. That interior is original and an interesting design. I think you did good. Enjoy!

Thanks for that....its always good when others think its a good/ fair deal....reassuring to say the least. Keith sent me a few more photos overnight and the small rust issues are much smaller than I had thought. The rocker areas are just surface rust, as is most of the roof apart from a couple of small holes. There is a little surface rust on the drivers footwell floor and thats really it. The detailed shots of the underside are typical of a drystate, non underseal car...brown but very solid indeed. I reckon a few weeks of block sanding and treating the surface rust, then some paint along the rockers below the trim line, a small bit of welding on the roof followed by matching white paint and she will look 100% better. Thanks for all the positive feedback....I feel the masses with me!!!

Cheers Steve

It never ceases to amaze me how many of these cars end up overseas. Congrats on the deal.
Because we love them and just seeing a classic newport or newyorker on a British road . Is an awesome sight. It's better than looking at those European lookalike square boxe's that are driven on the roads nowadays:yaayy:

Yeah....thats bang on!! We look at these great cars as diamonds in the rough and at anything from $2 to $3000, they are just fantastic deals. I do laugh when cars like that $1500 4dr 69 Fury comes up and people say, *if it wasnt 3 hrs away I would go and look at it". If I got a sniff at that car at 3 times its asking price here in the UK, I would drive anywhere in the country to look at it. We pay around $7 a gallon here and I would still do it (we were recently paying nearer to $10). Trust me, in the classic car world here, you cant get a pair of mint chrome bumpers for an MGB for $1500 let alone a rust free, big block, low mile classic Mopar! You guys are VERY lucky so enjoy them while you can fellas.....cheers Steve
