Really wanted to know more about this car, but I could not make it through the seller's description.

A little punctuation, and learning where the caps lock key is at goes a long way.

From the grainy pictures, it looks like a decent car.

Despite the difficult read, he provided pretty good pics of the rust prone spots (roof and quarters and under the rear quarters) to show it's a solid car.

Looks like a good buy...73 Coupes are tough to find.

T3C = TNT Pie Plate?? Am i missing something here or is that the standard T code engine?

Imperials were not available with U code HP engines in 1973 or other years for that matter. It is a T code standard 440. With Autotemp II. Standard cloth interior is a little downscale and even the rim blow wheel is only tilt, not telescope too. But not a bad example with low miles it appears. I still worry a little given it is a Florida car, so I would still want to look it over more.

hi, saw your post and wondered if you could tell me what the last year was that a Fuselage was available with a HP 440. I assume you could get it all the way till the end--1973, but just checking. thanks.

Streaming consciousness best describes that description. Looks like a solid old boat though

I could not get through three sentences in the listing description. Pics are equally bad. But seems like a very nice car. Seller is clearly a Mopar guy so chances are it is all legit.

U code 440s were available every year the 440 was made for cars (until 78- I've heard that some 440's were in RVs after 78, but I am not so savvy on that).
They are just about impossible to find today as just about every C body so equipped was raped of it's HP drivetrain in the 80's and 90's for some "tribute" car build. Like this solid 75 Police Pursuit on Facebook. Hopefully someone takes the solid body and restores it.

Standard T code, with correct air cleaner (although incorrect orientation of the snorkel- it should point at the battery). Someone just "dressed it up" with a 70 TNT pie tin.

The only year the Imperial was offered with a "hopped up" 440 was 68. It was called the "440 dual" and came rated at 360 hp as opposed to 350. It had dual snorkel and dual exhaust- think TNT, just in the Imperial. It appears that they were K codes (not HP or L code for 68), as you say. I guess letting them breath better gained 10 horses.

I do not believe the 440 Magnum was available as a regular production option in a C body after 1971 unless you were ordering a fleet vehicle such as a police vehicle. So the so-called Magnum engine was last regularly available in 1971 in a C body I believe (and it was still relatively high compression then as well - 9.5 compression ratio and 305 net HP - the new rating method). Only the B bodies had them as an option in 1972 and 1973, but they were pretty pathetic with their 8.2 compression ratios (and 280 net HP), but they did have the dual snorkel air cleaners and dual exhaust systems and 3.23 axle ratios generally, so perhaps some were fooled that they were getting something special.

Correct, dealership data books bear that out. I did see a U code 77 NYB in a scrap yard in the 80's and thought it was cool (no I didn't get pictures of the VIN...it was the 80's- and the drivetrain was gone). So like anything Chrysler, you could get weird one offs- or the VIN was typo- dunno.

The 73 is not TNT motor that is just sticker given to the father from the son for Christmas. I spoke to this guy and a friend of mine might be buying the car from him. He is still waiting on the winner of the auction and if he does not come not buy it today. He will sell it to him. It is great deal for what it is. I not a fan of the interior and or the color it has 43.000 miles and the 73 run really good for there size. I owned a 73 and it was faster than my 71 Lincoln Mark III 460 car. My 73 Newport with 400 2 barrel would run circles around my old Lincoln the Newport is really impressive for it's size she flies

That was painful to read, but very informative. I think someone got a decent car for the money.

I message the seller twice, asking to clarify what he wrote in his listing. I think he blew a fuse from so many asking him questions as he got pissy and said angerly "... IF YOU ACTUALLY READ MY LISTING, YOU WILL SEE I SAID THAT ..." Sorry bud, anybody who got through that gibberish would be confused what was written.
