My friend has a 73 New Yorker sedan that he has had for 5 years and can no longer justify keeping the car. He lost his indoor storage and does not want to pay to let the car sit outside ( under cover). He said he was going to let me sell it for him and give me part of the proceeds. It is operational with original drivetrain that runs and shifts well.It has had some minor rust repair in lower rear quarters but it actually looks decent like a typical used car from the seventies ( during that decade)Any ideas on a fair price to ask for this? I can’t seem to find an actual value on this model on the internet. I will get more details and pictures when the weather breaks here in central Ohio.

Welcome. What color is it? Do a search of this site in the cars for sale forum and note what people are asking. I would say depending on condition and options anywhere from $2500 - $5000, although '73 models do seem to be climbing in value as an alternative to the more pricey older models. Be aware (and don't be offended) but this thread might get deleted because it does not have a price.

I find it hard to believe you couldn't find any valuation info on the internet - ebay, FB, Craigslist, etc? The for-sale forum on here? Nobody has sold a 73 Chrysler in the last few years?

This inquiry is also pretty useless without pictures.

Sorry to be a blunt, but you've joined here simply to sell a car, please put some effort in to help us help you.

I’ve found very few sales but and they were for cars in number 2 condition or cars that were in the bottom condition range. Just trying to help out a friend who I’ve known for for over 40 years. When I met him in Hifh School he had bought a 62 New Yorker that we had a blast in , surprising many cars with its 413! Anyway I figured this site would have people who know and like these full size cars and would offer som good advice. He just said he would take 2k as it sits. Car is covered in a rented outdoor space now and I can’t take pictures yet. It is matron color with cream colored interior. Just like the gentleman’s story about finding his father’s car that I read recently. Thanks for your input

It is maroon with cream colored interior ( nylon?) , I believe the car has a black vinyl roof .

pictures in and out will help us to give you advice, being a new yorker it would have come with a 440. pics of the seats, dash which shows the heater & radio controls - if it has regular air conditioning or auto temp a/c .
