Great survivor 1973 Plymouth California Dept. of Forestry car. Originally registered to the fire chief who lived in Santa Rosa.
Retired in the early eighties and still has the early eighties civilian blue plates. Car is equipped with a Fury 360 not available in a Satellite that year. Also has the pursuit package and special paint VIN code on original data plate.
Includes not-normally equipped options that period like A/C and AM radio. Special order for the elite got the A/C.
This car runs and drives great and is complete and very good condition. Never any body damage or rust.
This is NOT a replica, it is real, and rare. I have owned it for a number of years and is not a phoney flip car like the rest of them.
I have included a close-up of the data plate, so you can decipher it for yourself.
I will include the original CDF key fob with the original car number (this is how I found out the documentation when I called the department), and the CDF helmet with the car. Radio equipment is in the trunk, but I never hooked anything up.
I have taken this car on long trips and is a very reliable car.
Excellent opertunity to own a piece of CDF history in unaltered condition.
Cash only, no trades... IF AD IS POSTED, CAR IS STILL FOR SALE.
I ONLY GET TO THE EMAIL ONCE OR TWICE A DAY. A REPLY WILL BE DELAYED,SO NOTHING WILL HAPPEN ON A MOMENT'S NOTICE.

Would have expected to see a special order tag on the core support. Over spray underneath suggests a repaint. Hard to get excited about a 360 car at that price.

Yea what amazes me is with all the pride in this rare one is that no one over the eons of this cars life would wash away all the fire road dust that seems to have permeated everywhere.

I guess that would detract from the "Great survivor" status (paging polara71) :poke:

I didn't see the over spray underneath but there is some on the LS doors.

Seats? I would of expected the smooth plain vinyl like my 68 PK21's & 77 PK41's had.
Recovered? or is this for the "elite" special order?

This car was for sale a couple years ago. I'm not sure if these are the same pics in the original ad.

Nice Piece of history for sure, but I never cared about the design of this model, very dull IMHO as far as four door sedans are concerned.

If you look carefully, there is green paint on the front strut rod and stabilizer bar and the bottom of the core support. Also over spray on the LR frame rail above the spring. Seats are clearly recovered as they do not match the dash. Suspect the original fabric was olive green in a plain pattern as that would have matched the dash and would be consistent with a fleet service car. Not sure what seller means by an "elite" car other than it has A/C, maybe it got that status because the forestry director drove it. LOL.

Governor "moonbeam" in his first term made a big deal out of the fact that his official car was a stripped down fleet car as opposed to a limo. One of them sold at auction with close to 300k on it for big bucks about 15 years ago.
