NOT MINE 1973 Polara 2dr Survivor on Ebay

I think to show the black contrast of the weather stripping (seal).
On the car for sale if the weather seal is there it looks to be painted body color but it's hard to tell even enlarged on my HDMI screen. Trunk seal seems to be missing as you can see the attachment holes in a enlargement.

I'll go and see what the actual Ebay photos look like BRB.

(edit)

No the weather strip appears to be there on both doors and trunk although the lighting doesn't appear to be the best and looks like the weather stripping/seal maybe has a tint of body color.
In a enlargement of the trunk seal you can see the ends by the latch and the holes in the seal are for some breathing air I guess (don't remember those holes)

Then why do they look silvery instead of black. The pictures look clear enough to me.Even in my Newport with 73000 miles on it my seals look really black..This car only has a little over 27000 miles.

I'd work taking 10 grand off the price because... wait for it... wait for it...
It's got the evil rubber 'Tities'.

Now you got me wondering about the paint.I think I may make a phonecall and ask some questions.Ad claims all original .Before I would consider a purchase I would have to make a trip out there to inspect it.

Here's the $100,000 question: Why was green so popular and this color so rare? :realcrazy:
And nowadays all we get is black, grey and white on cars, and I'd love to have more of the greens, browns, etc. that they had back in the '70s. It's hard to please everyone :).

Green is my favourite colour for cars, so I get why it was so popular then... I don't know why it ISN'T now.

Not sure why there is such a debate about the seals; they all seem pretty apparent to me on the door and trunk

I think the debate is why do they look gray?Over spray or just weathered?Mine are very black on my cars, all three of them being 73's.So it just raises the question why .That's all

I think it's a combination of the lighting, lack of lubrication on the seals plus dust, and the resulting lack of contrast on the silver paint. My seals are quite grey, even on my newer cars, as I don't lubricate or clean them as often as I should :).

I've been noticing more greens but on SUV's , couldn't tell you what make they were.

I'm not sure I've seen green on the cars though.

Not many cars are actually "dumpster green"; the olives, jades, etc. are very pretty on cars.

You asked, I answered. You and I are extremely opposites. Green in my opinion is the worst color on a car . Oh, and all greens qualify as dumpster green.

Here is how the trunk seal is suppose to look. It should be black and it sure isn't the lighting in my opinion. Sorry, but my antenna is up on this car and all that the seller, basically the flipper, is saying which isn't much.
