One thing that I noticed when going to look at a car. I always check the mileage on the actual car when I look at it vs. the mileage on the picture in the ad or advertised mileage in the ad. They are never the same and most of the time are not even close.

I don't really pay much attention to mileage on a 40+ year old car. The condition and wear pattern's tell the story.

Everyone I've bought has been accurate within a few miles.

Pure speculation... but I would bet on the seller not caring enough to get the number changed... followed by inoperative speedometer
