[QUOTE="Rustyrodknocker, I'd pull the 413 on the first day.
I have some great motorhome motor stories already. Hope to have even more.
That would be a terrible waste. Right up there with rapeing a nice C body for its power train to use in some rusty B/E body. There are Vintage R/V and motorhome clubs that would welcome a coach like this. Minor mechanics and a serious cleaning and your off on a adventure with the "Tin can tourists". And for not much money.[/QUOTE]
I lost my original response when a call came in..
I guess I did not mean that to come across in a literal sense. It was meant to have some humor.
The fact is, like C bodies, rv's often outlive the appreciation for them.
In this region they are all becoming temporary housing, until they are abandoned on public property. Then the municipality has them towed to open land until the numbers reach the 1000's and storage is maxed. Then they smash them with excavators and shred them.
They are called zombie rv's. People get them for free or low cost on craigs and live in them until they are unbearable.
Rv's don't last with 12 month a year exposure. I have 2 cars in the lowest cost enclosed rv storage.
It's $3600 a year with a waiting list.
So if you want to own a classic rv you either own the storage or watch it get destroyed in 10 years or pay 40k to store it in the same time period.
Hence the situation with old rv's
