Hello,

My car was sitting for several years as I had ignition problems as well as a bad tranny, after fixing all of those issues I've now run into a new problem. I have no brake lights, horn, or torn signals, so far I've tested the horn relay to see if it has power and it does, I've also confirmed power going into the brake light switch. Before pulling the motor and trans to put a new trans in all of these items worked with no problem, does anyone have a direction they could point me into?

Thanks,

I agree, access to an FSM is a must. Did you do anything under dash or with the column during your work? Are all fuses in tact?

Have you got running lights/ headlights?

Yea everything works, I have a wiring diagram as well I just wanted to see if anyone had a suggestion from someone who has dealt with a similar problem before I start. I do have running lights and headlights, every other function in the car works as well including all gauges. I didn't do anything with any of the wiring other than running a switch and button paralell to it for the ignition and starter when I swapped to an HEI ignition.

The horn, turn signals, AND brake lights all go through the turn signal switch. That is the common item for those circuits.

I was thinking along the same lines...turn signal switch or connections related to this at the base of the column.

The hazard flasher on my 78 NYB failed closed, which then toasted the turn switch...I'd check that too.

I had a no taillight situation develop out of the blue on my Cordoba...turned out to be the connector at the base of the column was never fully plugged in...former owner complained about the stop lights not working sometimes and that the car had always done it.
