I would think a car built for export may not meet Fed/Calif emission requirements and therefore not legal to register.

Nope. All export American cars were legal to register in the U.S. All of them all had all of the safety stuff back then, glass, lights, frame and crash reinforcements. I know Mercedes, BMW, Jags, and other vehicles had to be converted to U.S. safety specs before they were allowed to be shipped (imported) to the States. Eventually all cars (except 3rd world junk like Russian and North Korean garbage) were built with the worldwide safety criteria.

Here's one of my all time favorites.....

I and E VON = Export. A28 and N97 California only noise reduction package. So...ordered for "Export" but built to specs for, and likely delivered to, California. it happened.

What engine do you have in it?

Is your car in Italy now?

A stock 360. The car was originally sold in North Carolina. Now it's in Italy, after spending many years in Canada. I'm waiting for the last piece of Fury III trim to arrive and the 8-track still needs to be sorted out.

Checking the 1974 parts book....there are references to P and D full size C bodies with 318 specific parts but all of the listings state EXPORT.

I don't know part books. Does it have a print date?
