nice old car...

<Original post deleted>

I've decided for self serving selfish vested interests to delete the link to the car.

I apologize. . :D

Very nice car - the "lady in red", perhaps? I'm usually not a big fan of the full wheel covers, but on this one, I like them.

The car was on Kijiji here last year...no takers. I have never seen the car in person and the owner and I have not crossed paths.

I stayed away from the car for the sake of my sanity...because I know I'd try to buy it, and I really need to downsize, if anything.

Matt, you need to take a two-door Brougham and fab a convertible from it! That way, you have all of the body styles, plus one that never existed as a Formal. C'mon, man, you know you want to do that!

Now I have seen it.

A formal to die for...

Some day.
I have the plan sorted out regarding body strengthening etc. but I am struggling with several aspects of the car I am planning. I was thinking of a console shift (using a proper Mopar console -no homemade stuff) but that may be an "un Imperial" touch? I am also struggling over colour...sometimes I think a 70's Inca Gold with the tan interior, other times triple black, sometimes Starlight blue with a white interior- I'm really all over the place on colour. I also haven't found a good donor car for all of the convertible mechanisms etc...I have more measuring to do. Once I start I want the plan in my mind to be solid.

I also need a shop and enough time to do it and the Air Force life keeps me on the move (PCSing again this summer), so this probably won't happen until I retire.

I have had concept in my head for over 30 years...I need to get an artist on it before it's done by someone else. It's been touched upon by others but not truly , completely executed.

Where to this time? Andrews? Dover?

Great base. The Tacoma area is kinda sketchy, but as you work your way East or North of Tacoma, or across the bridge toward Gig Harbor, you'll be in pretty good shape. At least, that was the picture back in 1981-82 when I was there! One of THE best auto museums is located there - the LeMay collection - you need to check it out while you're there!

My 3 dream assignments were Hawaii, Alaska, and Ft. Lewis, Washington because I knew I probably didn't have a chance to go to the first 2 choices. Turns out that I never got to any of the three.
