1976 Chrysler Newport 2 door coupe

This Classic Mopar Coupe runs, drives and stops. Good brakes and tires. New battery, spark plugs, front brake calipers and brake pads. We don't know any history if the engine or trans has ever been rebuilt, but does have some custom parts; chrome valve covers, Edelbrock carb, A/C delete, GM one wire alternator adapted to work. Recent oil change and rebuilt carburetor. This car has newer custom true dual exhaust with flowmaster style mufflers that exit out the rear bumper. Some know issues: The wiring on this car has been butchered, The wipers don't' currently work with the switch. The underdash ductwork is missing some pieces, the car starts with a switch and push button(not with key) the detent in the column is broken and is a little tricky to get into the correct gear. The body does have multiple small dings. The paint has lots of blemishes and some small scratches. The vinyl top has been removed and painted. There is no evidence of any rust damage anywhere on the car. The interior shows signs of heavy wear. Tinted windows. It has Rebuilt Oregon title (we are not sure why as we cannot see any evidence of any structural damage) and valid registration until October of 2023. Reminder: This is a 47 year old carbureted car, it has issues, it doesn't get good mileage, it has small fluid leaks, it is difficult to find parts for. Please make an appointment to view the car in person before making any kind of offer. We can raise this car on a hoist for inspection if desired.

400 cubic inch "big block" V8
727 3 speed automatic transmission
Power steering
Power brakes, front disc rear drum
Red and plaid cloth interior

$2900

Plus:
$115.............Processing Fee
$101.............Title Transfer fee
$126...........Two year registration (tags)

What are those fees? Is that just if it's sold in Oregon?
I've seen people do that alot lately just to protect them from people doing crimes after the car is sold so its no longer in the sellers name, also from the wordingmim assuming the car is being sold from a dealer so I'm guessing by law they have to transfer title and plates during sale.

"I'm guessing by law they have to transfer title and plates during sale." Oh have a geeez at this mayhem recently here in Central Florida about slow/lack of title transfer. I was going to post up this as to why you need a title and to transfer the title in a timely manner and in fact many states will put a penalty on a title transfer if it isn't done in a many of days. This can vary by state so don't jump down my throat... but have seen a recent title transfer of a 50 year old motorcycle where the state title says a penalty will apply if the title isn't transferred in 9 or 10 days(?). How would you like to have some Homicide detectives come knocking on your door for a double homicide and carjacking as in this case.

AC delete it says.
Is this the kind of delete when the ATC II wasn't working so all the components went to the dump?

The white-on-red with black top would look sharp if done nicely... those shotgun pipes don't suit it at all, but this seems to be another case of somebody spending time and money on hot rod bits and ignoring the actual state of the car!

I guess... here's the engine bay shot to see what other kind of phucker'ee is going on, speed control is missing 1 important component, how about that wiper motor, 2-speed(?) on this car?

Maybe he thought AC was standard so "AC delete" is his way of saying it doesn't have (and never had) air conditioning? I suppose in some parts of the States A/C would have been pretty common, but it was still a novelty in other areas, even by then :).

And of course he threw-on chrome dress-up components! Who needs an overflow bottle cap or working electricals when you can have chrome engine bits . Sorry, but this kind of thing really bugs me. It's like when people put fancy mags and tires on a rusty, faded car: spend the money where it's needed.

why is the passenger side firewall painted black?
It's the Wizard of OZ never mind who's behind the curtain moment. lol

Seriously how does this dealer make money on a car like this, get it for next to nothing in a horse trade?
On the positive side, looks like it has a C-Body Hi-Po Drivers side exhaust manifold, that's gotta be worth something if it isn't cracked or warped.
