1976 Chrysler Newport Custom, Absolutely amazing condition, only 19000 actual miles, has had 1 repaint from a professional shop a few years ago. -Paint is smooth and slick, interior looks like it s never been set in. headliner is great no sagging. -Dash no cracks, All gauges work, factory am-fm radio, all interior lights work, engine is a 400, starts and runs great, very quiet, shifts smooth, on a scale from 1 to 10 it s a solid 9 for sure, trunk area perfect, original spare and cover, also jack, everything in it s right place.

This one might be a steal if it still has an intact functioning and original lean burn system on the engine. Not many survived, Mileage, if accurate suggests that might be the case.

YES I BELIEVE SO

Quick check: If there are two pickup modules in the distributor, it is a '76 lean burn. Most were replaced in '77 or later with the single pickup version and the later computer hardware. You would have to get the serial number from the computer module to verify if that is original as a '76 version. Have fun.

Wasn't there something about one pickup was for "start" and the other one was for "run"? Later replaced in production with a simpler single pickup that did both (with appropriate computer changes)? Which one really works best? Just curious.

When I first heard a '76 Lean Burn run at the dealership, back then, I was surprised how much quieter they ran and how energetic they seemed.

One pickup module was for start, the other for run. This system did not work very well as the electronics in the computer were not up to the task of switching from one to the other. Probably worked fine in the lab but then....it went to the field and died.

Do not know what you mean by shouting? Who are you?
I tried to look at the car that claims it is in Mt. Clemens Michigan?
Seller responded that the car is in Utah and just send money?????????????
I will not post on this car anymore, I wanted to buy this car, but somehow I offended you????
Are you the seller?
Sorry, I was trying to save everyone on this site some wasted time.

Posting in "ALL CAPS" is considered shouting in e-speak. Not for polite conversation.
