I could of bought an ultra low mileage flawless 1978 NYB (with a working wiper cam).

My txsm can't get any worse so flushing all the fluid will have to be done anyways with a rebuild.

All 1978's are suppose to have lock up torque converters too. The only year big block 727 with that feature. I'll know when get the pan off.

I will let the group know how it turns out. The Newport hasn't moved in last 25 years so maybe I'll get lucky.......again. The bottom line is that it has to be dependable enough to drive from coast to coast, up and down mountains, the heat of July Carlisle, etc. without fail.

Not that I'm aware of...I've been through the NYB from bumper to bumper.

I went through my first 71 Polara when I was a teenager. No surprises there either..
