1978 New Yorker St Regis Coupe

When you get a chance.....

Can you post a picture of the 79 antenna when it's up and down and a close of the bezel when the antenna is up and down.

It;s suppose to stop raining here Friday.....I'll post a picture of what's left of my antenna.

Does the door handles have a red strip on them? I can't tell from the pictures. They should, same material as the mirrors. Those are decals........probably never find them. I got a set of mirrors and door handles from a NY'er in El Paso, Texas. Wrong color decals so I stripped and polished........look like NOS now... sans decals.

There's a guy somewhere around Toronto that's repopping the mirror decals in any colour required. I got a set for my Salon. And some extra to cut out the pieces for the door handles.

My antenna is broken. It doesn't have a power antenna switch which is weird and I can't understand why it doesn't.

'78s have a manually operated power antenna. There's a switch to the right of the radio to control it.

I believe the automatic power antenna was a later release at Chrysler.

I think power antennas are pretty universal. As long as your existing escutcheon will thread onto the body to hold it in place, it's gonna be pretty damn difficult to tell whether or not its an OE piece.

Just gorgeous Pete. I hope you'll bring it to the WPC dust-off breakfast.

Nobody has asked. 400? 440?

My antenna is an OE tri-band automatic power antenna. I have the 1978 only am/fm/cb radio option. There is no switch next to the radio on my NYB. I haven't been able to find the tri-band antenna anywhere. I'm going to replace it with a standard power antenna and add a switch and an aftermarket radio.

Can I get the contact info for the decals.

Can you post some pictures of your Salon?

Beautiful car and great story.

The imperial/new new yorker designs from form 74 to to 78 are one of my favorites. A classic design like the the 64 imperial.

Thanks for sharing.
