For Sale 1978 New Yorker Brougham, 400ci motor with all the options, power driver's seat, cruise control, power windows, power door locks, delay wipers, power trunk release w/ original bumper jack and spare, car runs smooth and does not smoke or burn oil, minor blemishes here and there but road ready as is.

Clean title and after a little research of prior registrations and info from the previous owner I believe the 38000 mi odometer reading to be correct. Tires are not new but are in good shape due to how little the car is driven. The car is mostly original, it has been repainted at some point and the original radio replaced with an in dash CD player and in trunk 12 disc changer. The only thing on this car that I know does not work is the air conditioner. I charged it last summer and the compressor worked but must need some seal work done.

The New Yorker replaced the Imperial in the 70's as Chrysler's luxury car and was the last of the big body Chryslers. Email me if you have any questions, I am not unhappy with the car I'm just ready to get a Fleetwood. Please don't contact me with any bogus offers, only if you want a piece of great riding Detroit steel.

I'm no longer in need on this vehicle, price lowered to $4500 but reasonable offers will be considered.

Feel free to email me with any questions or reasonable offers.

I've been watching this car a while if I had the cash it would be mine. Oh well maybe it will hang around till I get a few things caught up.

Wish I had a Cadillac that I didn't want.

I'm impressed you really want to get into a Formal.
I hope we git'er done.
You won't regret it.

They make the most sense for what I want a c body for. I came here searching for a c body, really wanted a slab fast top. The more I started hanging here I decided that I am favoring Chryslers the most, plus I already have Plymouth's and Dodge's in other body styles, and because of them I don't need another project. I'm looking for a car to do what Bob does, if I'm going on a trip I am taking the c body, beach, weekend getaway go see family whatever. That means no Budd brakes and or unobtainable parts that may fail out on the road. I learned to drive on my parents 77 Gran Fury wagon so I have a connection to formals in that regard. This car is my kind of car color, int , 2door I am even good with 400, also good without T&T.

Hmmmm for some reason when I click on the Craigslist link all I get is a black screen. Same thing on a different link in a different thread. Has this happened to anyone else?

Weird, I tied links on three different web sites and none worked until all of a sudden they all work again. OK all fixed, nevermind.

1978's have a wiper cam that WILL fail....not a problem with a 1977 small cam conversion.

You're right Dave.....nothing like cruising the open road in a Formal!

Yep tall rear gear, cushy ride, big brakes, perfect cruiser.

Spent three weeks doing a lap of america with my parents and sister in that Gran Fury wagon.

Back in 1978 I was walking out to the parking after work, I saw Jimmy, one of our classiest drivers getting into his new '78 St. Rege with every option. The car blew me away and I said to Jimmy, What made you buy one of these.
And Jimmy says, I pound my *** all day and I want to sit on pillows going home and this is the last one.
Lol. Ever drive a Lexus? Like a Conestoga Wagon. Deadly quiet? Yes. But like Conestoga none the less.
