1978 NYB Preservation Project....Sort of

I guess he used some 3M stuff. Looking very good to me. Right side quarter panel is done.

I think I would let that paint cure in 1/4 for the rest of the summer then chip guard and paint again before winter. Inside 1/4 I'm talking about.

Thanks. Also going to use seam sealer around the rear marker light (on the inside of the quarter panel). That is the root cause of all the rear quarters rotting out of Formal's.

How about a carport at least?

My backyard is protected woodlands and nothing can be built back there. No access by vehicle through the woods.

Yep, that idea has crossed my mind more than once. LOL! I have another cousin that lives in Phoenix.

My other cousins want me to move to Green Bay after I retire for good. Buy a house with a 3 car garage and relax in front of the fireplace during the winter.

Bob.. Maybe consider a water proof / breathable car cover? Blocks UV rays which kills interiors and vinyl tops, protects from bird dookey and stuff.. Just say'en.

P.s.. Forum! I want to take my own advice.. Anyone have recommendations on a nice car cover?

Just a note on the Ironshield...

A one inch ratchet strap or a cinch strap front and rear and it'll withstand 100 mph hurricanes easily.

The wind tends to get under and turn it to a giant ballon if you don't secure it. Extra $10 and you can get a security cable which I highly recommend.

Sounds like a plan.. I'll check out that website and see what's what.. She sure needs too. That Home Dept tarp just ain't cutten it. Lol

Looking good Bob! Can't wait to see her all gussied up and looking good.

Please tell him to pull that rear marker light out though. Its driving me nuts! Haha

He said that more than 20 people have wandered in and wanted to know if it was for sale.

I think everyone here knows the answer....LOL!

He has both of them sealed up with seam sealer. He said that they'll never leak water inside again.
